Troop 500
Leads the Way.

Son Number Two was part of the honor guard for the event. Rick Perry made an impression on him.
(59 second mark)

Mark Halperin offered a very candid, and bleep-worthy, assessment of the president’s Wednesday press conference performance Thursday on “Morning Joe.”

“I think he was kind of a dick yesterday,” Halperin said, after first checking if the broadcast was on a 7-second delay to allow for correcting four-letter FCC violations.

Four! er, FORE!

The free world waits as the four asshats of the apocalypse take to the front nine. At least Nero played the fiddle while Rome burned.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama drove the cart and House Speaker John Boehner celebrated a short putt during their much anticipated golf outing Saturday at a military base outside the nation's capital.

Vice President Joe Biden earned the commander in chief's approval when he sank a 15-to-20 foot putt on the first hole, a par five, at Joint Base Andrews.

"Did you all catch that?" Obama shouted to reporters gathered near the green.

Oh the drama!

On a lighter Wiener news today! (The forgoing notwithstanding.....)

Dad Life.

Happy Dad Day to all you fathers out there.

We Hated Reagan....

Great article up over at Pajamas Media by Jeremiah Duboff. A worthy read.

As a youngster in Manhattan in the 1980s, I myself was formed in an intensely Democratic milieu where distrust, resentment, and repulsion underwrote our attitudes toward Reagan. Any honest attempt by any of us to reckon with him must begin by admitting that, at heart, we hated Reagan.

We hated Reagan because he hailed from another country, or another version of this country, a strangely idyllic ranch outside Santa Barbara, California. That place had no place in our parents’ iconic 1970s New Yorker poster — of a commanding but caricatured worldview, looking west from 9th Avenue. Hence it had no place for us. From our cultured, concrete canyons, the Reagan Ranch was and would remain terra incognita.

We hated Reagan because the grown-ups around us snickered at his old-time movie roles in Bedtime for Bonzo and Knute Rockne, All American. That we, at tender ages, were perfectly enamored of The Muppet Movie and E.T. and Rocky and Chariots of Fire bothered no one. We hated Reagan because MAD magazine mocked his interior secretary with the caption “Watt…We Worry!” Because New York Times editorials tended to sublimate MAD’s bias, at age twelve we gladly took out our first Gray Lady subscriptions — to the nodding approval of the grown-ups around us.

Let's see....who does the "we" hate today? History repeats itself, we know that. Can it happen again in one person's lifetime? The Rumbear is hopeful.

Father's Day

Father's day approaches..roses grow in Heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me~place them in my Dad's arms, and tell him they're from me. Tell him that I Love and Miss him, and when He turns to smile~place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for a while..because remembering him is easy, I do it everyday~there's an ache in my heart that will never go away.

Miss you Dad....

Wiener News!!

Wiener Withdraws, Wiener Pulls Out, Wiener Unable to Finish ....yes indeed, more fun than a barrel full of monkeys (Ed Note: Huh?) Tony Wiener announced at a press conference yesterday that he was no longer able to get up and represent New York as a Congressman. It's been an up and down week for the toney Wiener. First Nancy Peelosi encouraged him to stick it out, then abruptly, she withdrew her support. Of course, flip flopping is nothing new to ole Nancy.

Next photos from days gone
by of Wiener oil up and dressed in drag along with vivid prints of Little Tony in the buff appeared. No worries, all in good fun, the Big Wiener proclaimed. Then Mrs. Wiener came home from a long overseas trip with Hillary the Magnificent. I bet they shared some stories! The week reached it's, uh em, crescendo, when Wiener appeared to announce the errors of his ways. He thanked his parents for instilling in him the values that got him there.

Stay classy Tony...stay classy.

Colmes Squeals!

In case you were wondering what had happen to Alan Colmes since he was dumped from the hit show Hannity & Colmes this clip should fill you in. Apparently he has been working on an advanced degree in Idiocy & Hypocrisy at the Ted Kennedy School for Interns & Massage Parlor. Like a true supporter, protecting the Wiener was his point of the day. Here's a tip Alan...stay in school.

Laugh and the World Laughs .....

President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness met today in Durham, NC at Cree Inc., a company that manufactures energy-efficient LED lighting. One of the Council's recommendations to President Obama was to streamline the federal permit process for construction and infrastructure projects. It was explained to Obama that the permitting process can delay projects for "months to years ... and in many cases even cause projects to be abandoned ... I'm sure that when you implemented the Recovery Act your staff briefed you on many of these challenges." At this point, Obama smiled and interjected, "Shovel-ready was not as ... uh .. shovel-ready as we expected." The Council, led by GE's Jeffrey Immelt, erupted in laughter.

This guy is so out of touch with common, small town, every day mom & pop that he thinks this is funny? People are hurting. My neighbors are hurting. Hell, I don't even want to say what I have lost in the housing market alone in the past three years. Yet president Zero finds humor.

We are in the best of hands......

Monday's Pun (s) !!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better." Pelosi Wants to Check Out Wiener.

Opposition stiffened following the press conference yesterday by Democratic Congressman Tony Wiener. The House Minority Leader Nancy Peelosi called for a probe of Wiener today.

"An investigation by the Ethics Committee to determine whether the Rules of the House of Representatives have been violated is warranted."

The call for an investigation was clearly a blow to Congressman Wiener. Having gotten himself into this pickle, his fledgling career as a photographer remains in limbo.

Ed Note: This is to much fun.........
