Well the mainstream media (MSM) has picked up on the fact the Obamalama's pastor is a bit of a racist wingnut. (We hate to say we told you so, but, right here , WE TOLD YOU SO!) Rev. Jeremiah Wright has left the campaign. The questions are coming fast and furious. What can the great uniter of all do? Not much according to some. Here's what John Derbyshire said today over at NRO...

I repeat: Obama's toast. He may yet get the Democratic nomination, but tens of millions of Americans who are neither (a) black nor (b) guilty white liberals are simply appalled that Obama would revere a guy like Jeremiah Wright for 20 years, whatever the particularities of which services he did and didn't attend. It defies belief that Obama knew this man for all that time, intimately enough to have him supervise at the Obama wedding and the children's baptisms, yet did not know that Wright is a white-hating, America-hating crank. Who on earth believes this?

The MSM can't smother this, not in the age of the web, though they are trying mightily. (The Sunday New York Times "Week in Review" Section had nothing about Wright; neither did the main news section.) Americans are a fair-minded people, who find double standards obnoxious. A guy who says "nappy-headed ho's" in an irreverent radio show is dragged round the city walls behind a chariot to the delighted howls of a mob of self-righteous "anti-racists"; yet a man who uses the authority of the cloth to damn our country and curse white people, is praised as a "biblical scholar" by a candidate for the presidency? I don't think so. This won't stand. The man is toast.

I don't even think Gore can pick Obama as a running mate now.

Actually, I lied up above. We really do like to say we told you so!

Pet Rock.

VDH reports on the Obamalamadingdong movement. despite winning in Wyoming (?) it may be in retro grade.

Something like that happened with the Obama campaign in mid-February, as he became the new generation's pet rock. No one knew what he had done; no one knew what he would do; no one cared whether they knew; all only wanted to be a part of it. It was a sort of self-described "movement" to "change the world," that offered absolution for all sorts of sins, real and imagined, of commission and omission, an atonement for past and present, here and abroad.

And now, as some people wake up from their pet rock purchase, they are seeing they've de facto nominated someone rated about the Senate's most liberal senator based on three years of experience there. The Democrats have boxed them into a situation of running a candidate that has out-sourced all negative attacks to the New York Times, political junkies and columnists, in order to remain above the fray and loyal to the "new" politics of change and hope.

I never bought a pet rock. Never thought much of this latest movement either. Consistency is the hobgoblin of.....
I don't know....

Idon't know...

I don't know where I am gonna go when de Volcano blows!

The lava is coming down soft and hot out on de Big Island. The flow from Pu'u Oo has made its way once again through the Royal Hawaiian Gardens neighborhood and has arrived at the sea.

The Pu'u Oo flow is rapidly coating a bench extending off the coast, and is blasting steam into the air as it touches the seawater. It is reported that there is a good chance a second finger of lava will continue downslope and by Saturday also will reach the ocean.

Seeing lava flowing is something that should be on your things to do before I die list. Hard to describe the feeling as you stand next to 1000 degree red lava creating new land before you. So get your Visa card out and head for the Big Island!

When you are in sure and say hello to my olde pal Bob!

Why Rumbear? Why...

Several of you out THERE have asked, albeit inquired, as to my comments re: heroes...William F. Buckley?! I started to put together a compendium of sorts to illustrate the attachment, as it were, to this great mind in a man. Then I came upon this article by Ann Coulter. She recalls Buckley in his heyday. Pushing hard against the liberal elite. Here's a snippet on Joe Lieberman, yeah that Democratic guy I cheer for, more often than not...

With liberal Republicans still bothering everyone even after Reagan, Buckley went all out against liberal Republican Sen. Lowell P. Weicker Jr. When Democrat Joe Lieberman challenged Weicker for the Senate in 1988, National Review ran an article subtly titled: "Does Lowell Weicker Make You Sick?"
Buckley started a political action committee to support Lieberman, explaining, "We want to pass the word that it's OK to vote for the other guy or stay at home." The good thing about Lieberman, Buckley said, was that he "doesn't have the tendency of appalling you every time he opens his mouth." (Emphasis, as they say, added.)

Once again, Ms. Coulter comes through with a salient article on the point of the moment. Read the entire thing and then ask yourself,...

Why not?

Oh, and welcome to the club.

Strictly in the biblical sense...I'm sure..
Fighting Fraud!

....Global Warming Fraud that is.

John Coleman is the local weather guy for San Diego. He founded the Weather Channel many years ago. He is NOT a fan of Glowball Warming. Niether is the Rumbear. Probably one of those great minds think alike moments.

Weather Channel Founder Blasts Network; Claims It Is 'Telling Us What to Think'

“[I] have a feeling this is the opening,” Coleman said. “If the lawyers will take the case – sue the people who sell carbon credits. That includes Al Gore. That lawsuit would get so much publicity, so much media attention. And as the experts went to the media stand to testify, I feel like that could become the vehicle to finally put some light on the fraud of global warming.”

Enter the lawyers.....hey...wait a minute, I'm a lawyur.......
