Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. That dick, Anthony Weiner, Democrap, NY gets caught texting fotos of his namesake to a paramour.

Imagine if he was Republican, the Dems would be tripping over their .... oh never mind this is to easy.

Indy 500 RACE DAY!

100 years of Indy. The Brickyard. My connection to the race is born of my father. Memories of working in the yard or the shop with the Indy race on the radio and smells of BBQ. (Yes radio.) Jimmy Clark, Parnelli Jones, A.J. Foyt, Turbine cars, ball bearings, Al Unser, Bobby Unser, Rutherford, Gasoline Alley, Rick Mears, Penske, Carburetion Day, Andretti, who is on the pole?, MILK!, Little Al Unser, Fittipaldi, Kanaan, Janet Guthrie, Danica, Back Home Again in Indiana, Firestone, Jim Nabors, Bump Day, Danny Sullivan, Castroneves, Goodyear, Franchitti, Bobby Rahal, Consani Racing. I grew up and actually went to the race a couple times with Gator. More memories. Kentucky golfing, motorhomes, campfires, museum, the infield, lap 3...getting word I passed the bar, rum prn.

Who will win this year?! I don't know....but I will be watching.
Count on it.

Memorial Day 2011

Some gave all......

The Bear Clan will begin the weekend by placing flags on the graves at Fort Rosecrans. Up at dawn on Saturday with 1500 other Boy Scouts doing this yearly task. It is inspiring to watch the waves of scouts descend down the gently rolling hills of the cemetery in the early morning haze. Pausing at each grave to place a flag and say out loud a long forgotten name. Me? I look for the Michigan boys, because somebody has to take care of em. Our last stop is Grandpa's grave, where we place a final flag and spend some time with him.

Go out this weekend, give thanks and remember our heroes, past and present. Carry on.

If Sarah Runs.....

She will define the issues, frame the debate and bring forth clarity in the muddle that defines the present lackluster Republican group. She is a leader who is not afraid to take fire and importantly shoot back. "Don't retreat, reload!" she has weathered the scandalous treatment from the lamestream media and become stronger for it. Even if she fails the faceless Republican that is left will have to acknowledge her positions and pay homage thereto. Why? Because she is you and me.

I like it. Yes indeed.

Indy 500

Friday is Carburetion Day!

Known for many years as “Carburetion Day,” and shortened only in fairly recent years simply to “Carb Day,” it refers to the day on which cars qualified for the starting field are given the opportunity to practice in “Race Day trim,” as opposed to the less economical setups required for out-and-out speed during time trials. A major portion of this used to involve adjustment to the carburetors, but even after the introduction of fuel injection in the late 1940s, the original term “carburetion runs” continued to be used. For the record, the stock-block Ford-powered Lotus cars of Jim Clark and Dan Gurney in 1963 were the last to actually use carburetors on Carburetion Day.

Reminisce? Moi?? (Click)

I need to get together with the Southwest Editor at Large and visit this one again!! Gator, ima calling you out!

Bow down, driving.

For Acidman...*

No reason.
Just thinking about ya today Rob. R.I.P.

John Prine..."Souvenirs"

Every time I post this traffic to the blog spikes. Thanks GOOGLEbot!

I just wonder if it was "Epic" or "Boob" that garnered the most interest?

Carry on.

Said the guy who was arrested for MURDER in the off season.....

Ladies & Gentlemen, expert on all things criminal...Ray Lewis!

Perhaps his most controversial statement was about the possibility of no NFL season. Lewis painted a grim picture across America of people without jobs and nothing to do on Sundays.

“Do this research. If we don’t have a season, watch how much evil, which we call it crime, watch how much crime picks up when you take away our game,” he said.

So much for trying to stomp out stupidity in my lifetime....

Obama and Cameron meet.......

They liken their personal efforts to two leaders who came before them: Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

These two would not even make the short list to fetch coffee for Reagan or Lady Thatcher. I wonder if Zero gave Cameron an iPod of his speeches?

[as an aside...ever notice how O'bowma always compares himself to great REPUBLICAN presidents?]

Monday's Pun(s) !!!

Flying these days is a frisky business.

When the shocked IRS agent was found guilty of tax evasion he had to take time to collect himself.

A clown decided to retire and hand over the business to his son. His son said, 'I don't know dad, those are big shoes to fill'.

"Smart Alec"?

Off on another trip president Zero, Our Hero has landed in Ireland....his ancestral home....in search of his lost apostrophe. (Yeah, I know...WTH?) When pressed on the statement, Obama produced a short form birth certificate indicating his place of birth was indeed Ireland. All doubt was quashed.

Moving along.....of course traveling in a foreign country one needs a new code name. Seems the one selected by Scotland yard is causing a bit of a stir. 'Chalaque'.
Indarjit Singh, a Punjabi speaker in the UK who is director of the Network of Sikh Organisations, told the Sunday Times the word 'is sometimes used when we want to denigrate someone who we think is too clever for their own good'.

Casting aside the intrigue one local wag was heard to say..."I guess "Dumb Ass"" was already taken"

Undaunted, ole Chalaque headed out from the US Embassy driven by his US driver, in the US made car affectionately called "The Beast", and promptly ran aground while pulling out of the driveway. Thus, demonstrating an apparent flaw in the design of this reportedly state of the art means of transport, the driver merely opened the door to see what he had struck. Having learned during WWII that an immobilized tank, high tech capabilities notwithstanding, was not the safest place to remain for any indeterminate amount of time, Chalaque and his, uh um, laques, dis-embarked on foot back into the Embassy grounds and ordered up a second "Beast". (Hopefully with more clearance) Too bad Humvee went out of business, eh wat?

Enjoy the video....
