Hey, hey.......

Proof has more. Head on over, read a bit. Bring your own Skittles.

Post Turtle

"When you're driving down a country road and you see a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle. You know he didn't get up there by himself. He doesn't belong there; he can't get anything done while he's up there; and you just want to help the poor, dumb thing down."

Boat delivery November 1991 off Point Conception.

It was a little "frosty".......

Indeed, Sir!
Oh Bamacare!

I was somewhat distracted this week. Then I finished my taxes.  Thus, no chance to comment on the big doings over at the Supreme Court.  Seems the administration of president Zero, Our Hero, got it's proverbial hat handed to them on every front.  The Libtards are scrambling because apparently it never occurred to them that they might be, uh, you know, wrong.  Jeffrey Toobin spent most of the week re categorizing the hearings as the event unfolded.  Prior to the hearings he told his CNN viewers this was a "Momentous Occasion". Day 1 was disconcerting.  Day 2 was a "Train Wreck" and Day 3 brought us an upgrade to a "Plane Wreck"...(Ed Note: or plain wreck as wont' may be).

Perusing the front page over at NRO I found an article that painted a wonderful vision of the current state of le affairs de healthcare...

“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth,” said Sherlock Holmes. The recent three-day intellectual demolition of Obamacare at the Supreme Court exposed to even the most obtuse lefty the flimsy constitutional underpinnings of the so-called “health care” law. The Patient Deflection and Unaffordable Care Act is now well on its way to zombie status, still staggering around in the form of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, knocking things off shelves and making growling sounds in the direction of religious folk, just waiting for the head shot from the Roberts Court to put it out of its misery.

Aim carefully Mr Chief Justice. Adjust for windage & elevation and squeeze the trigger. End this national misery.

Beautiful service yesterday.  Family, friends, military honors. I believe the Chaplain said.."Honor is not given in the Navy. It is earned." A fitting tribute for Lex.

I have read several takes on the event. Gorgeous sunny blue sky with a brisk wind blowing off the ocean and hugging the contours of Point Loma. Standing room only at the main entrance to Fort Rosecrans. First time I had seen this location utilized as such. Fitting.  Chaplain remarks, shots fired in tribute, presentation of a flag to Mary & a flyover by an FA-18 with a Kfir tucked in port side, tight.

My heart aches for the family. My condolences to them. Having lost my father at the age of 19, I know that life will go on, in time the pain will ease, yet, the memories....ahh, those memories, they will last forever.

Farewell Lex. Soft and safe to thee.....

Tebow Has No Value.....

Tebow is a slug, so they say.  Yet, somethings been a bothering, I do not have a dog in this hunt BUT, can someone tell me......when did John Elway become the all knowing sumbitch of NFL Q-Backs? I mean, I watched John Elway play football.  Graceful...Nope.  Perfect arm...Nope.  Form...Not by a frigging long shot. Skill ? Okay.  Talent...Way above average?  Determination the charts.  Unorthodox was a term he was wedded to. Picture a Clydesdale who can throw. Hold on to that.

So who the hell is he to judge any Q-Back in the NFL?  He left the NFL and made big coin in car dealerships. Yet, he says Tebow has no value. Really?

My opinion is that 31 other teams are looking at their list, and checking it twice...looking to see if Tebow fits nice.  Santa Claus is available in the NFL. Who wants to be a contender?

(Oh and when I googled the photo...I entered Tebow...want to see Manning...try "pain in the neck" offense Peyton.) he will be doing ads for Chevy Volts....

UPDATE: Tebow to Jets for a 4th round pick and a sack of kicking tees.

UPDATE:  That crack aboot Chevy Volts & Elway....Bob's Yur Uncle!

Damn. Just damn...

I came to work today determined to keep my head down and be somewhat productive. That went out the window with the first pass through the Intrawebs.  The Preliminary Investigation is out on the crash. These things are hard to digest when you know the driver.

NTSB Identification: DCA12PA049
Nonscheduled 14 CFR Public Use
Accident occurred Tuesday, March 06, 2012 in Fallon, NV
Aircraft: ISRAEL AIRCRAFT INDUSTRIES F21-C2, registration: N404AX
Injuries: 1 Fatal.
This is preliminary information, subject to change, and may contain errors. Any errors in this report will be corrected when the final report has been completed.
On March 6, 2012 at 0914 pacific standard time, an Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Kfir F-21C2 single-seat turbojet fighter type aircraft, registration N404AX, operated by Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) under contract to Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) as a civil pubic aircraft operation, crashed upon landing at Naval Air Station Fallon, Fallon, Nevada. The sole occupant pilot aboard was killed, and the airplane was substantially damaged by impact forces and fire.
The flight had departed Fallon at 0752 the same day, and attempted to return following an adversary training mission. The pilot initiated two Ground Control Approach (GCA) radar approaches to Fallon and then attempted to divert to Reno but was unable to land there as the field was reporting below minimum weather conditions.
The pilot then turned back toward Fallon and stated to air traffic controllers that he was in a critical fuel state. The pilot descended and maneuvered first toward runway 31, then toward runway 13. The airplane struck the ground in an open field in the northwest corner of the airport property and impacted a concrete building on the field.
Weather at the time of the accident was reported as snowing with northerly winds of 23 knots gusting to 34 knots, and visibility between one-half and one and one-half miles.

Two missed approaches, an unsuccessful divert to a closed field at Reno, and a return to Fallon, with low fuel, limited visibility and high winds.  Aircraft punched in short of runway 13r and terminated in the Combat Loading Area in the upper right corner of the diagram
