OMG It's Gonna Rain!
The nattering naybobs of negativity are in full bloom as the FIRST, (i.e., One) (1st) (only) storm of the season is aboot to hit Southern California. 2 inches of rain is forecast and the wind will blow a little.**
Nevertheless, we are being bombarded by an endless parade of predictions, prognostications and DOOM!. Katie, bar the door, to the lifeboats, man the sand bag line, flash floods are a possibility, homes will be lost, mothers will have to tread water, the chillern will be harmed. Oh, the humanity.
Welcome to So Cal. Meh...
Me? Well, I check the level in the rum stash and took Hockeydawg for a swim before the "OMG It's Gonna Rain!" storm arrives.
We good.
** (This storm is a good thing...I have a 20 mile ocean race on Saturday. Let it blow!!)

Officer Snowball.
Respect My Authority! cried the yet to be identified Chicago Cop as he arrested the young ruffian for, wait for it, throwing a snowball, accurately. Yes, with visions of Elliot Ness rounding up the thugs from the mean streets of Shitcago, Officer Snowball had the 13 year old boy charged with a FELONY.
According to police, a 13-year-old boy was charged as a juvenile with felony aggravated battery against a police officer Wednesday after he hit the officer in the arm with a snowball while the officer was parked in his vehicle in the 4900 block of West Congress Parkway about 3:20 p.m.
Apparently no other crimes were committed that day in one of the countries leading Murder Capitals. The Thin Blue Line has held. Thus, justice has been served....

History...
There is a saying that goes something like "Those who do not know it are bound to repeat it."
I was over at Rogers page perusing the selections and came across this chronology of the Rise & End of the Third Reich. We all know of many of the events, however, the timeline illustrates the concurrent nature of many of the actions. I found it interesting in light of the current day march towards Socialism. Hmmmmm......
1919: September Hitler joins an obscure fringe group, the DAP (German Workers' Party).
1923: November 8-9 Hitler leads the abortive Beer Hall Putsch (coup d'état) in Munich.
1923-1924: In prison for high treason, Hitler authors Mein Kampf (My Struggle).
1933: January 30 President Hindenburg, under the sway of the ultra-conservatives, appoints Hitler as Chancellor.

1935: September 15 Promulgation of the Nuremberg Laws relegates Jews to a separate second-class status in Germany, prohibits intermarriage and sexual relations with Germans
1936: March 7 German military re-occupation of the Rhineland successfully challenges France's willingness to act in defense of the Versailles settlement.
1936 Germany and Italy intervene in the Spanish Civil War.
1937: November 5 Hitler reveals his long-range "plans" to the Reich leadership (Hossbach Memorandum).

1938: August Decree requiring all Jews to adopt the first name "Israel" or "Sarah"
1938: September 30 Munich Conference: Britain and France grant Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland to Hitler to avoid war; Hitler gives Chamberlain his personal word on future cooperation (the height of the policy of Appeasement).

1940: May 10 Blitzkrieg on France, Belgium, and Holland launched.
1940: June 22 Fall of France; German forces occupy northern and western France; collaborationist Vichy government set up in south-eastern France.
1940: September Goering's Luftwaffe fails to bring Britain to her knees (Battle of Britain).
1941: May 20 Walter Schellenberg of the RSHA tells the German military commander in France that further Jewish emigration should be prevented in view of transportation problems and the fact that a "Final Solution [Endlösung] of the Jewish question" is foreseeable.

Damn. Just Damn....
Have ya ever found a blog where you could just pull it up and know you were gonna read something good? Something wholesome. Something you wish you had thought of. A place where ya just felt comfortable? This blog, Home On The Range, has been that for me. I don't know the purveyor other than what I have read and a few comments back & forth. But, it is a place I have grown fond of.
Tonight, I was saddened to learn that her trusty sidekick, Barkley, has passed on.
So sorry Brigid. Blessings to you....

Wall Ball...
Home Defense. The intruders are inside the gate. The home protection device is in hand. Lock & load. Ready to fully engage....ever wonder where those rounds that miss go?
Now, I know you will never have this problem because you never miss. Yet, aren't you just a little curious. Think that wall is a good backstop?
Read, watch & learn.

Sporterizing the Mosin-Nagant M44
Article caught my eye. This weapon has been garnering a larger degree of curiosity of late. I see them in Big 5 when I go to pick up another 12 Lacrosse balls for the chillern. $170.00 for a weapon that Ivan, Vasily, and their friends used to defend the Motherland back in the day. I am talking about theMosin Nagant M44, of course.
The article addressess the prospects of "sporterizing" the venerable rifle. In layman's terms that means bringing it in to this century with some upgrades.
As some of you may recall, I shot one of these flame throwers during the annual romp in Yuma last fall. Very impressive weapon to shoulder. Heavy recoil and some unmistakebale flameage when you pull the trigger. Accurate though.
I must say with some opf these upgrades it may have a corner in my gun safe. Check out the article and be sure to look at the comments. The knuckle draggers are out in force....
Call Me Senator....
Here is an ad from 2010 regarding the comment from California other Moonbat Senator, Babs Boxer. One thing I never noticed is that Peabody award winning actor Nick Searcy, of "The Acting School" fame portrays the Major General or General Major....
UPDATE: Oh yeah, Nick also stars on the TV show "Justified". Sorry I forgot to mention that, Nick. Sheesh.............
UPDATE II: It's on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM...are we thru here Nick?
UPDATE III: It's on FX.....
Well La T Daaaa....

I gave copies of Worthless to the chillern of friends heading off to college. I know they will thank me ....later.
Good on ya Cappy!
