What's A CR-914? 


Several have inquired as to what this "CR-914 racing" is in reference to on Friday's.  Well, it is a one design racing class of model boats. You can buy one from Chesapeake Performance Model Yachts. 
 
Now, as with most things involving adult toys calling them a model can be misleading. Moreover, it is a boat, aka a floating hole in the water into which one throws money....for fun. Thus one makes the initial purchase from Chesapeake PMY and that gets you a "basic" boat.  Then this quest begins. You have to chase this elusive ideal that revolves around making your boat "competitive".  Of course, nothing says competitive like spending mo money on do dads and go fast stuff. So while all boats are one design and created equal...some are more equal. But I digress...

There are around 15 of us on Friday's that race in front of SDYC.   Controller in hand and bar service a shout away...Waiter! Ahhh, Friday's unfold into the weekend.....
