Malaysia Airlines Flight 370..

Several of you have inquired "Hey Rumbear, you are a SH pilot guy, what's up with that Malaysia flight?" Hey, (backatya) why not, my opinion is as good as yours, maybe better. (he said with a degree of humility)

In this day and age, planes do not just "disappear". Think, Early Warning Radar, Snowden, NSA, cell phone tracking, etc, etc, etc... Each third world country has some sort of means to protect their "sovereign" territory from threats. Now each may define "threat" a little differently, however, they will know what is coming inbound or outbound in their skies. That's pretty basic.

Bigger countries, USA, China, Russia, well they are nosy and want to know the same information for their own purposes. (think...National Security).

Since the plane disappeared we have had a Keystone Cops level of activity. Initially, is was a downed plane, so we had the standard muster the search parties and set up a grid. The Malaysian mucky mucks were in charge. Indeed.

Then, some facts started leaking out. Transponder deactivated manually, cell phones still pinging(?), and, then we have the ACARS* reports from the engines. Initially, the Wizards of Malaysia denied the ACARS claim. Then, we learned from Rolls Royce that the engines ran 5 hours, no 7 hours. Now we have data showing a climb to 45,000 feet followed by a descent to 26,000, in less than a minute.

So, let's recap. We have a large, lumbering, Boeing 777, that swoops through the skies, up & down & all around, the airspace of [how] many third world, tin pot, dictator, countries for up to 7 hours and....we don't know where it is. Excuses....governmental excuses. Hmmm.....

I call shenanigans.
