The story of breast cancer in recent history is mind boggling. Birth
control pills are made of patented lab-created artificial hormones, which are
an established risk factor for breast cancer due to unmetabolized oxidant
byproducts of their imperfect use by the body (natural human hormones have no
metabolic byproducts, but cannot be patented, hence no money in it).
And having an abortion, failing to complete the body-changing pregnancy/birth/nursing process, is also a risk factor-- breast cancer has exploded in our population simultaneously with birth control and easy abortion and the "women's lib" routine of waiting 'til later, or not at all, to have children. 150 years ago women had babies young, and had lots of them, in general. Back then, the breast cancer rate was less than 1 in 100, now it's more than 1 in 10! And it's directly linked to not having children (thus preventing the hormonal changes that protect against breast cancer) and to the carcinogenic chemistry required to avoid pregnancy. Both things that the Komen folks were until recently helping pay for.
Say what you will about the social meaning here, but-- birth control, abortion and the "women's lib" phenomenon are directly responsible for a lot of the recent catastrophic increase in incidents of breast cancer. It's just science, not social commentary. But there you are.

It's ironic and tragic that the Komen
folks were funding the sort of things that increase the rate of breast cancer.
It's my understanding they didn't even want to stop the funding. It is just a
response to political pressure.
In summary, the group that runs around in pink proclaiming to want to save your boobies is sending your donated funds to another group that does things that damages your boobies.
Political pressure or just the plain truth? Know where your money goes.....or be a boob.
