Christopher Hitchens, 1949–2011 

 

Damn.  Just damn. The cancer finally took him away.  

Ole Hitch was one of my favorite atheist, commie bastards.  May not have agreed with everything he said, however, he was an engaging, articulate rascal.  I once described him thusly....

Christopher Hitchens may be a English socialist/commie bastard, however, he is a bright articulate English socialist/commie bastard. Thus, he presents an engaging read whatever the topic.

His name has popped up at the Chronicles on several occasions through the years.
