Plan B Another week looking at schools. Why? SNO is "waitlisted" at his top two choices, US Air Force Academy and the US Coast Guard Academy. "qualified but No Vacancy" at one, "Approved, Waitlist" at the other. Appointments may come ...May? Mid June?? GREAT achievement just to get this far in the process. However, deadlines loom, decisions must be made and life goes on. Thus, Plan B.
SNO has been accepted into the the engineering programs at several great schools. Tours followed by late night talks. Rack em & stack em, then do it again.
Yesterday UC Irvine for a second look. As we went on a walk about I noticed something...he was smiling. SNO & SNT explored the campus and had their fun. Nevertheless, I remained poker faced, answering questions, taking it in, and assuring him it was his decision. I know what I would do, but it's not my call.*
Home at the end of the day. More discussion with Mom in the loop. Racked. Stacked. Decision made.
UCI.
More specifically........studying Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine.
*Good choice.....now I get to write checks.
Unless, of course, one of the Service Academies realizes the error of their ways.
