Fire!

The southland is ablaze. The last few days has seen the Santana Winds blow the flames towards the coast. On most days the breeze blows from the coast inland. In Santana conditions the winds reverse the flow. Thus a fire in the mountains that would normally blow inland heads for the coast, and all the homes therewith. Big Trouble. Sustained 40 MPH winds overnight. The aerial tankers can't fly and the firefighters are turned into spectators. This ain't no weenie roast.

Godspeed to all of the brave firefighters and aircrews giving their all.
UPDATE, 1:49 PST: Solano Beach is under a voultary evacuation....This one might make it to the coast! Scripps Ranch is being evacuated. Check out the blog of Bruce Henderson for some "live" info.
UPDATE, 1:54 PST: GOOGLE Maps of the evacuated areas and fire path.
