Lipstick on a Pig

Well several of you have axed the olde Rumbear "What's up with the Lipstick on a pig comment?" Seems kinda silly. Yes it is. Yet remember George Allen and "macaca". Ran him out of the race for that one. Trent Lott at Strom Thurmond's birthday a few years back....lost the Senate Majority post. Clearly they were all insentive bastards that needed to be drummed outta town according to the press....R I G H T??? So what's good for the goose is good for the gander??? Yet McPalin doesn't seem to be pushing the point. (Okay, one commercial) That is probably a wise tactic. If the Republicans push the issue the press and O'Biden can scream politics of destruction and brand them racists. But they do not take the bait.

So old ObamalamDingDong decries enuff already! Then he goes on Late Nite with Davey Letterman and.......doesn't let it go. Pathologically speaking, there is something afoot. If it was an innocent gaffe, then indeed, let it go. If it wasn't, now here's the rub, maybe some guilt comes in and there is a NEED to explain how it was all innocent and that HAS to be heard.

Denny over at Grouchy Old Cripple has a similar take:

That's what we have with ol' Jug Hussein Ears. He just keeps digging himself into a deeper hole trying to justify his "Lipstick on a pig" remark. What's really funny, is that he wasn't even referring to Palin. I guess he must feel like a white person who says to no one in particular when commenting on the weather, "Boy it sure is hot out today." And then some black male, whom he wasn't even talking to, says, "Don't call me boy!"

VDH discusses the gaffe here saying

Yesterday he did it again, and paid big-time with his silly “lipstick” quote about Palin. A small matter, but of enormous symbolic importance: it shows that he can’t leave well enough alone, as if he were driven on by forces beyond him.

So, here's my take.....he did it on purpose to bait the McPalin team. There's no guilt here. Just a smug preppy boy trying to make sure that his point gets some play. The problem is.......McPalin is not biting and that, well, that, really pisses off ole Obamarama. So, he still talks about it....to, you know, make it go away.

Convoluted? You bet. But they are Demecrats and they are losing.

9/11/01

911....where were you? Do you remember? I do. I went home. Talked with my wife. Pulled the kids from school and brought them home, safe. Lock and load.

Many other Americans did the same. 3000 could not. They were gone.

Remember... "Are you guys ready? Let's roll!"

Remember...“What Do I Tell the Pilot?”

Remember...last year?

Never forget.

and she's a Red Wing Fan!

A Clay Township woman presented Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with a Red Wings jersey during a presidential campaign rally last week at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights.

Kim Francisco said she is a lifelong Democrat and and former union official. She wore a "Hillary for President" hat to the rally on Friday.

"Why she connects with me is, you feel like she could be your next-door neighbor," said Francisco.

"My husband (David) hit it on the nose last night," she said. "He said, 'She’s the only one like us since Bill Clinton.'

"Francisco said the jersey was one of only four left at the Dick's Sporting Goods store at 23 Mile Road and Interstate 94 in Chesterfield Township.

She bought one for herself and one on the off chance that she might be able to give it to Palin, Sen. John McCain's choice for vice president on the GOP presidential ticket.

She showed it, and the place went absolutely nuts," said Francisco.

"She kept thanking me and thanking me … I said, 'Thank you for for what you and your family are going through and are going to have to go through during this election.'"
Well, blow me down.
The Bourne Idiocy

Matt Damon, opinion.....

"I think there is a really good chance that Sarah Palin could president. And I think that's a really scary thing because I don't know anything about her. I don't think in eight weeks I'm going to know anything about her."

Here's the thing Matt, your an actor, as such, I believe that she could be in office for 8 years and you still would not know anything. About. Her.

Sit down and STFU!

Be Still My Heart!

Good Shootin!

Down Florida way....Pinellas County, (Tampa for you northerners!)

The kidnapping happened about 11 p.m. Sunday at Aday Motel, 501 Bayview Blvd., Oldsmar, Sgt. Jim Bordner said.

The trio apparently thought the victim could lead them to another man regarding a dispute over stolen coins, and they forced the victim at gunpoint into their white 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, Bordner said.

Detectives said this is what happened next:

A man in the back seat next to the victim laid his handgun in his lap while he typed a text message. The victim grabbed the gun and shot that person, then shot one of the people in the front seat. He then held the gun to the driver's head and ordered him to stop the car. He then got out and called 911.

The uninjured kidnapper drove to a McDonald's at 4085 Tampa Road. Restaurant employees saw the wounded people in the car and called 911. Deputies responded and found the man in the back seat was dead. The wounded person in the front seat was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.

One shot short of a hat trick! (Hockey slang for you southerners)

The Cover...

Reminds of the ditty by Dr Hook,

Well we are big rock singers, we've got golden fingers
And we're loved everywhere we go
We sing about beauty and we sing about truth
At ten thousand dollars a show
We take all kind of pills to give us all kind of thrills
But the thrill we've never known
Is the thrill that'll get you when you get your picture
On the cover of the Rolling Stone...!

You go Barry. You go.
Why Mr. Freemarket, I Never Knew!!

Long time readers, yes, both of them, know that I like to peruse the oversea press fro their take on what's going on here in the "colonies" as some so quaintly put it. So I was perusing a site this morning that has proven to be a reliable source of financial information, historical impertenance and some understated British humor (I chuckle!) over the years and what do I find?.....This.....

To date your humble correspondent has steered clear of the forthcoming American presidential elections mainly because I am completely bored to death of the whole topic already - the process seems to have taken longer than the decline & ultimate fall of the Assyrian Empire, & yet the voting doesn’t even start until November.

Needless to say, the BBC (aka the Democratic Broadcasting Corporation) has already devoted huge amounts of time & the British taxpayers’ money to the handbagging that went on between Metrosexual Man & that Hatchet Faced Harridan because it was a win –win situation: ethnic minority or a woman. Two of their favourite causes. & when Mr Metrosexual didn’t put she who’s name shall not be mentioned on the ‘ticket’, there was a palpable gnashing of teeth from Broadcasting House & the bistros of Notting Hill.

Then there is the other party, the one that all good Euro-trash loathes. The party that nominated an OAP that it didn’t really like. Just how clever was that then? In fact when it comes to McCain, I am afraid that I just don’t buy it. He was a POW. Whilst I understand that the room service in the Hanoi Hilton leaves something to be desired, but he was a pilot right? Why wasn’t he building a secret glider in the attic or fashioning an enemy officer’s uniform out of discarded chopsticks & rice paper? Clearly McCain is no
Pat Reid.

Anyway moving quickly on while ducking, McCain has put Palin on the ticket & the
collective wailing has already started in White City. Funny how Metrosexual Man’s lack of Washington experience wasn’t perceived as a weakness in the op-ed columns of The Guardian but it’s a BIG issue when it comes to Mrs Palin. Staying on the subject Guardianistas, better still, it appears that Mrs P knows her way around a firearm & boy do they hate that.

Indeed, they do. Go read the whole thing where he handles, with style, the comparison to Lady Margaret Thatcher. Most interesting.
Rudy G.

Okay, so I have been focusing on Sarah, like you haven't ....however, the BBQ that was the Republican Convention had others serving up raw meat for the fans.

Rudy Giuliani pulled out the skewers in his speech several times. Great delivery full of direct hits. Most memorable....

"Change is not a destination, and hope is not a strategy!"

Pretty much sums up the Democratic ticket right there.

Now, back to Sarah ;-)

Fly Low. Fly Fast. Turn Left!

Reno Air Races begin in 5 days. September 10th-14th.
Man, I want to be there!

Hey, Hey!
Bat.
Ball.
Fence.
GONE!!!

Future Vice President, Sarah Palin hit it out of the park last nite. She came out and introduced herself and immediately started swinging. The punches were deft and the impact was striking. ObamaramaDingDong never knew what hit em.

In response this morning the Democratic candidate said "Uh, ummm, you know, well, ahhh, um..."

Don't believe me? Let's check out the overseas press. More often than not they seem to have a clear head when writing about politics on this Continent.

The McCain-Palin ticket now looks in exciting shape. A war hero and a heroic mum. Experience and optimism. A man and a woman.

And when McCain joined the Palin gang – babies and boyfriends and all – on stage after her speech there was a sense of cheeky fun absent from last week's solemn Obama coronation.

How the Democrats must be regretting Hillary isn't running with Obama. Barack's sidekick Joe Biden looks a dull old dog compared with the ball of fire that is Palin.

But most fascinating of all, consider this: If Obama loses, Hillary Clinton will run in 2012. Opposing her is sure to be Sarah Palin. That would guarantee America its first woman president.

And my fistful of dollars, having seen both in action here, would be on Palin.
K, K, Kwame, goodbye.

K, K, Kwame don't cry!

Guilty! Detroit's sleazeball mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has plead guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of justice due to his lying while under oath.

"I lied under oath," Kilpatrick said after he pleaded guilty to two felonies, a plea that will require him to spend four months in the Wayne County jail, to resign his office and to pay $1 million in restitution.

Kilpatrick will also agree not to seek office during the five years he is on probation and will surrender his state pension to the county. He will also surrender his law license.

In exchange for his guilty pleas, Wayne County prosecutors will drop the remaining six charges against him -- including the perjury counts -- and agree to not prosecute him for other issues that arise from the investigation into the perjury and obstruction of justice case.

The resignation is to occur within two weeks and he is to pay $20,000 of the restitution when he is sentenced.

The "Hip Hop" mayor will be frog stepping to jail right after the sentencing hearing on October 28th.

He, he.....I got your change.
SOURPUSS Vote?

Yup, That's Rumbear!

Yet with Sarah Palin on the ticket ......

......."I can see myself following Ann Coulter's advice: "Get drunk and vote for McCain." The first part, at least, will be pleasurable."
Here's more from Ms. Coulter skewering the left...
When liberals start acting like they're opposed to pre-marital sex and mothers having careers, you know McCain's vice presidential choice has knocked them back on their heels.
Yup, we got us a horse AND a race.

Because he's still right.
