 New Immigracion Signs....

.....are out.  Next stop, voter registration booth!

Game #7

Detroit Red Wings
Tied up 3-3 in the series.

Opportunities lost, opportunities gained. Backs are against the wall,
Win, move on.  Lose, go home to Hockeytown....

Kapeesh?

UPDATE:  They lost. Season's over. I am in mourning......sort of.

Have Nail, Need Hammer?

She Has a Point*.....

The Referees in the NHL have some issues regarding their, uh, umm, fairness.  We have seen it in each game, no matter the teams. They seem to move from the "Let Em Play" mode to the "I Has a Whistle and I Know How to Blow" mode with less than stellar logic.

No calls for 12 minutes with mayhem all around, then with 2:30 left in the game..... Two calls, one for the always curious "interference".

and....don't get me started on the Penalty Shot call in Game #6 of the Wings.

Put the whistle away, or don't. Pick one...here's a word "consistency".  Learn it.

As an aside, don't get me wrong, even if you don't blow, you will still suck.  But that's life....you coulda gone to law school.

But you would prolly suck at that too.

Tony Kanaan Wins!!

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.  Not any more.  Tony

Kanaan came through at Indy to grab the 2013 Championship at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing!

Tony Kanaan had one more lap, one anticlimactic last lap under the yellow caution flag, to end 12 years of frustration in the Indianapolis 500.

He flipped up his visor to wipe away tears as the crowd roared its approval, and then in Victory Lane gave his bride of two months a long kiss and poured the celebratory winner's milk over his head.
Kanaan is Indy's hard-luck loser no more. He is its champion at last, fittingly with a dose of good luck for a change.

"I have to say, the last lap was the longest lap of my life," Kanaan said. It was one of Indy's most popular victories.

Carb Day

Indy 500 is 1 Day, 20 Hours and 4 Minutes away!! Today is Carburetion Day.  What?  Let's go to Wiki.....

The final practice session before the race, currently held on the Friday before race day, is called "Carburetion Day" (shortened to "Carb Day" since 2000). The name originally came from the fact that it was the final session where teams could tune their carburetors in conditions similar to those that may be encountered on race day. The name has remained despite the fact that no qualified car has used a carburetor since 1963. A pit stop competition, a concert, and the Firestone Indy Lights Series Freedom 100 are also currently held on Carb Day.

Things I Did Not Know.....

According to my Blog statistics apparently if you search "Darth Vader In A Kilt On A Unicycle Playing Bagpipes", it can bring you to the Chronicles.

Well, duh......

Memorial Day 2013

Some gave all......

The Bear Clan will begin the weekend with a family tradition of placing flags on the graves at Fort Rosecrans. Up at dawn on Saturday with 1500 other Boy Scouts doing this yearly task. It is inspiring to watch the waves of scouts descend down the gently rolling hills of the cemetery in the early morning haze. Pausing at each grave to place a flag and say out loud a long forgotten name.

Me? I look for the Michigan boys, because somebody has to take care of em. Our last stop is Grandpa's grave, where we place a final flag and spend some time with him.

Go out this weekend, give thanks and remember our heroes, past and present. Carry on.

It's Aloha Friday ...

Religion of Peace?

Tragedy in the UK.

A dramatic video tonight emerged of a man with bloodied hands, carrying knives and ranting 'We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you', after a serving soldier was hacked to death by two men just 200 yards from an Army barracks.
The man can be seen and heard talking to the camera. The video came as terrified eyewitnesses saw two men shot by police marksmen after the machete attack in Woolwich, south-east London.

The two men are thought to have waited around for 20 minutes until Metropolitan Police officers arrived and then tried to attack them - but were swiftly shot by armed policemen, including a woman.

They apparently shouted 'Allahu Akbar', which means 'God is great' in Arabic, and tried to film the attack, the BBC's political editor Nick Robinson said.

Hmmm...no indication of what religion these chaps may be.

The Home Secretary said she had been briefed on the killing by the head of MI5 and police later confirmed they were treating the incident as a possible terror attack.

Possible?  Ya think?

A statement from the Muslim Council of Britain said it understood the victim was a member of the Armed Forces.
It said: 'This is a truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly. Our thoughts are with the victim and his family.

Uh, "emphasis added". One question....ever read the Koran?
The first mention of Islam or that the perps might be Muslim is found waaay down in the article and is contained in quote above.

Radical Muslim Terrorist?  Radical Islamic Terrorists?

Who knows.......

Made me think of this.....
Indy 500

Are y'all ready for some racing! The 97th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 26th!  Both of my long time readers know that the Indianapolis 500 is an event that warms the Rumbear's heart.  Yes indeed. 3 days, 22 hours, and 27 minutes to the start!

Here is a link to last years link ridden post on the event.

Looks like 49er's Coach Jim, Harbaugh will be careening around
the course driving the pace car on race day.  A sweet 2014 blue Corvette will be his ride.  (Surprised Proof did not tell me aboot that.)

Local talent, Ed Carpenter is sitting in the pole position.  He beat out the big boys with a four-lap average of 228.762 mph in the Fuzzy’s Vodka/Ed Carpenter Racing Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone.

Carburation Day is Friday May 24th. (Click)

Rumbear in the News.

(Well, sort of....)

So do you recall when I wrote about the playoff game #2 betwixt the Wings and the DuhUcks?  Sure you do.  (Hint: CLICK).  I mentioned that Dan Cleary gave a lad that was right next to me a puck.  Seems that was captured by the local photog traveling with the team.

Boom, there I am.

Next we go to Game #7 same locale, same photographer.  Two young ladies in front of us caught his eye.  John motioned them to turn and smile.  That's John in the background with the Rumbear in hat at the right.

Hat tip to the Sporting News.

Now if you will excuse me.....when you're a celebrity.....

Chicago Blackhawks Coach....

That Did Not Take Long....

So, a tornado meanders thru Oklahoma as tornadoes are won't to do.  Tragedy abounds with home destroyed, lives lost and families trying to cope.  What is the first thing that Democrats have to say?

Condolences?
Prayers?

Aide?

Nope.

They blame it on Glowball Warming.

That's right, despite recent articles stating that tornado's are at an all time low and that Glowball Warming IS NOT happening....the few, the proud, the Libtards are blaming the carnage upon the warming myth.  Cue the Tin Foil Hat crowd....

UPDATE:  Oh, and in 1975 the Libtards were blaming tornadoes on GlowBall Cooling.

UPDATE:  The Captain gives out an award!

Nice Article, Except....

THE WINGS WON !!!!

The Detroyit Red Wings are up 2-1 in the series against the precious Blackhawks.

Some GIF's are here.

Red Wings Game #3

By gawd the Red Wings stomped on the terra Saturday night.  They put a beat down on the Blackhawks that left em whining to the beat writers and talking to themselves.  Game #3 is tonight at the Joe.  The place will be Detroit Rockin as the Wings look to settle old scores against the league's #1 team. It'll be like "olde Times" at the Joe.

Let's GO Red Wings !!!!!

Monday's Pun(s) !!!

Adrenaline Lacrosse

So, y'all know SNT plays Lacrosse. Just wrapped up the season on Saturday after losing in the playoffs.  On Sunday, the NCAA Tournamment was on teh TV.  No, he did not play, but he was in a commercial for Adrenaline Lacrosse that ran during the games.  That's him with the hat on backward at the 18 second mark.  He is also seen at the 1, 2, 15, 17, 18, & 19 second marks.

Here is a link to a Behind the Scenes article.

Wonder if he needs an agent.....

Immigracion

Unperturbed by the scandals rocking Washington, Senator, John McCain is hard at work with his Gang of Eight getting ready to drop another steaming pile of "legislation" on the minions, i. e., us. This is another of those bills that is so important nobody can read it before we arrange to pass it.

Today, Ole Chuck U. Schumer, Democrat NY, was caught on open mike coordinating the votes for his Republican friends to provide "cover" for them approving this pile of dung.

The National Journal recently reported that the Gang of Eight members have coordinated in secret to keep amendments that would strengthen the bill from passing. Sessions expressed outrage at that report, saying that “[o]ne of the things that most upsets the American people about Washington is drafting a bill with special interests in secret and jamming it across the finish line in a way that minimizes public involvement and input. Despite touting their legislation as ‘the toughest border enforcement in history,’ the Gang of Eight bill failed to live up to every major promise of its sponsors—including the promise of enforcement first—resulting in a bill that is even weaker than the rejected 2007 plan. This legislation needs improvement and openness.”

John McCain, how much damage can one dysfunctional family bring to the US of A.   Your legacy of incompetence and ineptitude is intact....please go home. Your village is missing it's idiot.
