BJ?

We got your BJ.
Know Your Bible.

Charla Muller was reading Galatians 5.22-23 in her Bible study group when she decided what she was going to get her husband, Brad, for his 40th birthday. Perhaps disappointingly for him, it wasn't an iTunes voucher. Instead, she was going to give him the gift of sex for 365 nights.

As you know, Galatians 5.22-23 reads: "But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." What's that got to do with a scheduled sex marathon? "From that, I realised I needed to bring something to bear on our relationship to make it fruitful. We had been married for eight years and I wanted to reconnect with Brad, and give him a gift he would never forget."

My birthday is in October...I'm just saying.

Murtha!

Yeah that old reprobate congressman from Pennsylvania. You remember the one. Spending YOUR tax dollars like nobodies business. Ex Marine(*), John Murtha. Well here's one of his little gems.

Your money.

(*) I know some of you dilettantes out there will argue that there is no such thing as an "Ex" Marine. Your wrong. There are two. Murtha and Lee Harvey Oswald. Semper Fi.

Stanley Cupdate

The Detroit Red Wings pulled out the brooms last night and swept the Columbus Blue Jackets in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The BJ's showed some life last night as they battled into the third period tied 5-5. Right on schedule, the Wings scored with 47 seconds left in the game. The fourth win in as many games gave the wings a clean sweep for the series.

Who's next? Anaheim Poultry or the Vancouver Canuckians. Stay tuned.

Hopey Changey...
How's that working for ya?
The Circle of Life...

In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University . On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air.

The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.

The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away..

Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant. Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

Probably wasn't the same fricking elephant.

This is for everyone who sends me those heart-warming bullshit stories.

Party On!

Apparently the Newport Ensenada Race has some competition. What with all that is going on down Mexico way of late, it seems the entries are down. The banning of an entrant didn't help either.
The banned entrant simply went out and started his own regatta. The Border Run starts one hour earlier off of Newport Harbor and finishes at...you guessed it SDYC!

Start in America, stay in America!

.......and a party to boot. I'm in!

Some Days .....

This would be one.
Tin Pot Dictator Meets Tin Pot president ....

Okay, I hear ya. The olde Rumbear has received several e-mails from you all looking for a comment on the southern swing of the Obama Apology Tour 2009. I have stayed off of the topic as there are ample articles out there about our failed president. Frankly the One is moving in so many directions so fast it is hard to keep up, which, I surmise, is his plan. Chaos works that way. Wo to the Republican that will have to sort out this mess in 4 years. But I digress...

The One meets the Littlest Dictator.... shakes a hand, gets a book and accomplishes what? Well, here's one take from the Wall Street Journal Online that I concur with

In New York this week, I asked a former Eastern European dissident who spent time in prison under the Communists: "If you were sitting in a cell in Cuba, Iran or Syria and saw this photo of a smiling American president shaking hands with a smiling Hugo Chávez, what would you think?"
He said: "I would think that I was losing ground."
The hopeful way to view the Obama administration's openings to Chávez, the Castros, Iran and the others would be: This had better work. Because if it doesn't, a lot of people who've spent years working in opposition to these regimes -- in hiding or in prison in Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, China, Russia, Burma, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan -- are going to get hammered. North Korea's opposition is invisible.

Commie bastards. Nice tie though. (See, I kept it positive!)

Ummm...

...oh, never mind.

Happy Earth Day!

We here at the Chronicles love Mother Earth. The staff will be leaving early today to gather at a local beach later to celebrate. The evening will be rounded out with the annual tractor tire bonfire and wienie roast. (Bring your own wienie to roast!) We might even get Arlo to lead us in a rousing rendition of KumByYaa!

Y'all c'mon down or light a tire of your own!

Budget Slashed!!

WASHINGTON (AP) --Cut a latte or two out of your annual budget and you've just done as much belt-tightening as President Barack Obama asked of his Cabinet on Monday.
The thrifty measures Obama ordered for federal agencies are the equivalent of asking a family that spends $60,000 in a year to save $6.

Thanks Barry! You da man!! WoooWhooooo. Cut that deficit.

Shhhhh.....

Well, well, well....

Came across this little synopsis of the recent hostage crisis resolution on the high seas via Theo Spark

The real story of Obama's decision making with the hostages...
(From a Marine that lives just outside Coronado where the Seals train. He uses the Coronado Officers’ club.)Having spoken to some SEAL pals yesterday and asking why this thing dragged out for 4 days, I got the following:

1. BHO wouldn't authorize the DEVGRU/NSWC SEAL teams to the scene for 36 hours going against OSC (on scene commander) recommendation.

2. Once they arrived, BHO imposed restrictions on their ROE that they couldn't do anything unless the hostage's life was in "imminent" danger

3. The first time the hostage jumped, the SEALS had the raggies all sighted in, but could not fire due to ROE restriction

4. When the navy RIB came under fire as it approached with supplies, no fire was returned due to ROE restrictions. As the raggies were shooting at the RIB, they were exposed and the SEALS had them all dialed in.

5. BHO specifically denied two rescue plans developed by the Bainbridge CPN and SEAL teams

6. Bainbridge CPN and SEAL team CDR finally decide they have the OpArea and OSC authority to solely determine risk to hostage. 4 hours later, 3 dead raggies

7. BHO immediately claims credit for his "daring and decisive" behaviour. As usual with him, it's BS.

There's more. Head on over. (Click, click)

Wisdom Through the Years...

Ronaldus Maximus
Here's some excerpts from a great little book I leave laying around the house called "The Quotable Ronald Reagan" by Joseph Holmes

'The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'-Ronald Reagan

'The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so.' - Ronald Reagan

'Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. . was too strong.'- Ronald Reagan

'I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.' - Ronald Reagan

'The taxpayer: That's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination.' - Ronald Reagan

'Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.' - Ronald Reagan

'The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program.' - Ronald Reagan

'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.' - Ronald Reagan

'Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it' - Ronald Reagan

'Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed, there are many rewards; if you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book.' - Ronald Reagan

'No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is as formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.'- Ronald Reagan

'If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.'- Ronald Reagan

'When a business or an individual spends more than it makes, it goes bankrupt. When the government does, it sends you - the taxpayer - the bill'-Ronald Reagan

Stanley Cup Round #1

The quest for Cup #12 begins in earnest on Thursday.

Wings are playing the Blue Jackets (BJ's!) in a first round up and down the freeway match up.

Should be a good series. Rick Nash is a beast and has been hounding the Wings all year. Time for that to stop now that the 82 game pre-season is over. Wing fans are confident, BJ fans have apparently gone all fetal and disappeared..... (Guy, call home!)

Even olde Ben Stein argued with Peter and his forecast of doom.

Still Number ONE!!

Way to go Mark!
I got mine buddy and it's a good read.

Homeland Security

Yeah, this is what I need to be protected from ...myself.

The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," the warning says.

Now you know why the left was afraid all those years of the supposed powers that Bush had been given. He could have used them like this. He didn't though. That my friends is but one of the differences between a liberal democrat and, well, everyone else. They libtards will use the power to no good.
Welcome to Shit Creek, population: You.
Judge Breck, R.I.P.

Worked on his first campaign for the judgeship. Always had a kind word. Definitely made an impression on the olde Rumbear.

David F. Breck, who served as both a district and circuit judge in Oakland County, died Friday at home after a short battle with leukemia. He was 78.

A graduate of Cranbrook Schools, Judge Breck served on the Birmingham city commission from 1963-1976, where he spent two terms as mayor. He was appointed in 1976 to the 48th District Court and in 1982 to the Oakland County Circuit bench, where he served until his retirement in 2000.

Soft and safe to thee.....

White House Denies ...... Presidential Bow

Huh?

The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets.

Reason #543672

Just another reason to love our friends from down under.

Up to 40 per cent of Australian women now buy bras with a cup size of DD or higher, new figures from lingerie suppliers show.

In the 1950s, the most common bra-cup size was a B - three sizes less than a DD. Modern breasts are getting so large that some bra companies have introduced cup sizes as high as K, The Sunday Telegraph reports.

Size K?!

Who Pays?
A MoveOn.org video that was originally used to slam President Bush for his meager deficits. Red State re-tooled it for today.
Flummoxed!

Barack Obama, the World's Greatest Orator (™all news organisations), didn't exactly cover himself in glory when the BBC's political editor Nick Robinson asked him a question about who was to blame for the financial crisis. Normally word perfect, Obama ummed, ahed and waffled for the best part of two and a half minutes. Here, John Crace decodes what he was really thinking .....

Go here. Read of ...

It's like we elected the Beverly Hillbillies.

The Rumbear remains speechless.

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

Oh. My. Gawd.

Please tell me this is an April's Fool joke. Please.

Barack Obama met the Queen at Buckingham Palace today and gave her a gift of an iPod loaded with video footage and photographs of her 2007 United States visit to Richmond, Jamestown and Williamsburg in Virginia.

First, British Premier Gordon Brown visits the states and the One gives him a box set of movie CD's. You know, like the ones you bought your sister when you were headed over for Christmas Dinner without a gift. Yeah, those.

So what's the big deal Mr. Rumbear? Listen to Alan Colmes and leave him alone. Well, see Mr Brown is blind in one eye and can't see much out of the other.....and.....CD's formatted in the States do not play across the pond.

and now the Queen gets a F%$#@* iPod?!!!!

Let's see who, amongst others, said this first. Well, theres this guy.

Of course, this is after he has given them $25 BILLION. Guess those TARP loans wont be paid back either. Thanks, Dumb Ass, er, Mr. President.

The Department of Defense briefed the President this morning and told OBAMA that two Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq. To everyone's surprise, all the color drained from Obama's face. Then he collapsed onto his desk, head in his hands, visibly shaken, almost in tears.

Finally, he composed himself and asked, "Just how many is a brazilian?"
