Well, Looky Here...

Seems the MSM's discovered that there is a problem at the site for the sailing venue at the Olympics. I got the tip originally from a friend who is sailing over thar. Well, he's not really sailing as the fotos of his fellow sailors show.

Olympics!

China...

Yeah.............

So the Olympic venue for sailing is Qingdao. (King daow). Seems that Qingdao is a green city. No literally. Seems an algae bloom has cropped up on the site of the sailing venue. You know that algae grows in polluted water. Well, let's see how they phrase it...

Blue-green algae blooms when nutrients, sometimes caused by excessive pollution, build up in water.

The country's three-decade economic boom has left its waterways and coastlines severely polluted by industrial and farm chemicals and domestic sewage.

About a quarter of the entire population lacks access to safe drinking water and, despite repeated government pledges of a cleanup, the situation is worsening.

Some algae can produce dangerous toxins and if ingested can cause vomiting, respiratory failure and, on rare occasions, death.

Ohhhhh that's it "...sometimes caused by excessive pollutants....". How delicate. Well how do ya get rid of it? If your a commie rat bastard you call up the peoples, around 3000 ought to do, and you send them in to the fetid mixture and they scoop it up in their arms.

I am not clear that they told the peoples about that last paragraph stuff...you the dangerous toxin part. Nevertheless, I am confident that our commie hosts will have everything shipshape by the time the Olympics begin. Not to sure if those 3000 will be around though.

"Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less."

Sign the petition here. Say it with me...

But wait Rumbear...drilling now will not provide any immediate benefit. Well, let's apply that logic across the board then.

My response to those who say that increased drilling is pointless because it won't yield immediate results -- like Arnold Schwarzenegger --is why worry about the greenhouse effect, then? Nothing we do will cool the planet immediately. Yet we're told immediate action there is vital. In fact, we're told that by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the very same speech.

Well....I'm waiting.....

No Ice At the North Pole!!

Sub Title: Oh my Gawd!

In recent days the histrionics from the GlowBall Warming crowd have hit a crescendo over the prediction that there may be open water at the North Pole this year. "We're actually projecting this year that the North Pole may be free of ice for the first time [in history]," David Barber, of the University of Manitoba, told National Geographic News aboard the C.C.G.S. Amundsen, a Canadian research icebreaker.

You don't say? Well here's a statement from an article in 2000 wherein a similar concern was addressed.

Paleontologist Malcolm McKenna, of New York City's American Museum of Natural History, said, "I don't know if anybody in history ever got to 90[degrees] north to be greeted by water, not ice." Even more surprising, they saw ivory gulls soaring blithely overhead. The Times itself commented that the last time anyone could be certain the pole was awash in water was more than 50 million years ago.

".....First time in history...." "...50 million years ago..." Now I really hate to burst your hyperbole (not really) but take a look at to picture. Looks like water to me. Now, go read the truth.
Okay, here a snippet from the USS Skate which surfaced at the North Pole in 1959 and numerous other locations during Arctic cruises in 1958 and 1959:

"the Skate found open water both in the summer and following winter. We surfaced near the North Pole in the winter through thin ice less than 2 feet thick. The ice moves from Alaska to Iceland and the wind and tides causes open water as the ice breaks up. The Ice at the polar ice cap is an average of 6-8 feet thick, but with the wind and tides the ice will crack and open into large polynyas (areas of open water), these areas will refreeze over with thin ice. We had sonar equipment that would find these open or thin areas to come up through, thus limiting any damage to the submarine. The ice would also close in and cover these areas crushing together making large ice ridges both above and below the water. We came up through a very large opening in 1958 that was 1/2 mile long and 200 yards wide. The wind came up and closed the opening within 2 hours. On both trips we were able to find open water. We were not able to surface through ice thicker than 3 feet."

PUMA*

Well they started out as disgruntled liberal voters seriously upset with the Democratic machine for not supporting their candidate, HRH Hillary. People United Means Action. Since her suspension of her campaign yesterday they are now REALLY pissed of females that are looking to open a can of whup ass on ....the Dems.

Now they are PUMAS*, Party United My Ass.

Some of us will stay home. Some of us will vote for a third-party. Some of us will write-in Clinton. Many of us will vote for John McCain. This is a protest. Whatever option our members choose, it does not make us Republicans. Those who vote for John McCain will do so as a strategy, a protest. Those of us who withdraw from the Democratic Party and become Independents are still Democrats in our hearts. We are all Democrats. This is our party. The leaders did us wrong. They did Hillary Clinton wrong. They did our country wrong. But it’s still our party.

Hell hath no fury......

Hillary's a Drop Out.

That's the rumor. Today's the day. Notice she is not conceding. My guess is she will hang on to those delegates until the deal is sealed closer to the convention. No worries, she can always head home for a quiet night with ......
Hey Baby!
UPDATE: Here's the statement..
"Today as I suspend my campaign, I congratulate him on the victory he has won and the extraordinary race he has run. I endorse him and throw my full support behind him and I ask of you to join me in working as hard for Barack (Hussein) Obama as you have for me,"
Ummm, maybe it's me but shouldn't that be "end" my campaign? Hmmmmm?? C'mon folks, it's the "depends on what the meaning of is, is" Clinton's
Hmmmmm...

An interesting theory....

In applied psychology there is a well-known phenomenon called the conservative decision shift. In approach-avoidance choice conflicts, ultimately the negative elements carry increasingly disproportionate weight as the time of decision draws nearer causing a tendency to favor the safer alternative. Given the negatives Obama has accumulated thus far, with more likely to come, I would predict a strong move to McCain in late October. The late closing of HC and Obama's deacceleration are evidence of the same principle.

The above was authored in response to this article over at NRO Online.

So it begins.

Two of our most advanced warships have been found "Unfit for Combat". USS Chosin and USS Stout That's not a good thing if you are/were the Captain. Great graphic of the infractions here.

They could not move the anchor! Sheesh......
History.

Yes, history. Those that do not know it are bound to repeat it. Those that do know it....well, we call them Historians.

So several of you have written the ole Rumbear and inquired as to what brand I have been drinking to endorse Hillary for President. Actually, I did not endorse her for President; I endorsed her as the Democrat Candidate. This was, of course in response to the cry for her to drop out. Slight difference there, dear readers. Rest assured all is well and I shall continue to imbibe in only the finest of swill.

Having cleared that up, perhaps a little history will give you some perspective as to the Rumbear's position re: "dropping out".

First let's set the stage......Here in the present HRH Hillary is a mere 150 or so delegates behind ObamalamaDingDong. Indeed the totals shown you by the MSM that appear to be near the required number of 2025 INCLUDES the super delegates that have said they will vote for whomever. In reality each is 400 to 500 delegates away from the threshold. This is important because Super delegates do not have to vote for whom they are pledged. That's why they are SUPER! HRH Hillary actually has a lead in the overall popular vote by 100,000 or so. (Ed Note: Remember how important that was to AlGore?!) The fact is neither can secure the nomination outright prior to the convention. Nevertheless we have the powers that be in the Party calling for her to drop out. Quick side bar here, imagine if an angry white male was in the lead by 150 votes over Obamalama or HRH Hillary....do you think for a minute there would be any call for the one behind to drop out? First woman or first black to get this close and you really think they would be asked to drop out? The cries of racism and being anti feminist would echo from the valleys.

But, I digress.

So should HRH Hillary drop out? History tells us the answer. No, if you like to watch the Dems melt down.

Sign me up!

Let us look at the 1980 convention. That great bastion of American overindulgence, Ted Kennedy was running for President. Kennedy came into the Democratic convention at Madison Square Garden in New York City with 1,225 delegates to Carter's 1,981 and 122 uncommitted. 756 delegates BEHIND! No cries for him to drop out. Politics ain't beanbag. Sean Miller at National Journal points out:

Kennedy's only chance to wrest the nomination from Carter, who had enough delegates to win, was to pass an "open rule" motion.Joe Trippi was on the convention floor the evening of Aug. 11, 1980, marshalling the Kennedy delegations from Texas and Utah. He remembers the deciding vote as "the robot rule vote," which came after an hour-long debate that played out in front of a prime time television audience. The debate was over whether delegates should have to vote for the candidate they'd been pledged for, or have an "open" vote during which they could pick Kennedy or Carter, Trippi recalled in an interview. The back story being that the economic and international political situation had deteriorated between the time most people voted and the time of the convention, opening the door to Kennedy, who was billed as a change candidate. (Ed Note: Where have we heard that?!) "It went all the way down to the wire," said Trippi, who was an adviser to Edwards' 2008 campaign. In 1980, after the convention floor debate, Kennedy picked up support from most of the uncommitted delegates, bringing his vote total to 1,390 -- still shy of the majority needed to pass the motion. Carter won the rule vote and Kennedy quickly conceded. Another 300 delegates would have been enough for Kennedy to pass the motion and throw that convention "wide open," Trippi said.

Politics ain't beanbag. HRH Hillary is running for President of the U S A. It will come down to those Super delegates. Indeed.

There are 795 super-delegates to the Democratic National Convention, said Daniel Shea, a professor of political science at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. "They're the key to this whole process." Super-delegates include governors, members of a state's congressional delegation and former officeholders. "Super-delegates tend to be more the establishment wing of the party -- not exactly the Obama group," he said. "They're a crucial piece of the brokered convention. DNC rules stipulate they don't have to vote for the candidate, even the one they've endorsed."

So history shows that candidates have come in to conventions with far less support and played the odds. Makes for a fun, chaotic time. I'm all about that, so long as it's the Democrats.

Operation Chaos...sign up here!

But, I Thought You Said We Were the Bad Guys....

Paging AlGore, Paging the Prophet AlGore. Explanation needed on line #2.
VOG!*

OCEAN VIEW, Hawaii (AP) - For eight years, Tony and Sam Bayaoa have grown thousands of bright red, yellow and pink protea flowers on their farm. Then last month, Kilauea volcano opened a new vent and began spewing double the usual amount of toxic gas.

Now about 70 percent of their crop is dried, brown and brittle.

"The first reaction was—did someone poison the plants?" said Tony Bayaoa, whose two-acre farm is 35 miles from the volcano. "I've lost my livelihood."

So, what do ya want me to do? You are the one that set up shop next to an active volcano. You are the one that invested all the bucks in the enterprise. You are the one who enjoyed the profits of said enterprise. So....I ask again, what do ya want me to do?

Yom Hashoah

Holocaust Remembrance Day

On April 12, 1951, the Knesset (Israel's parliament) proclaimed Yom Hashoah U'Mered HaGetaot (Holocaust and Ghetto Revolt Remembrance Day) to be the 27th of Nissan. The name later became known as Yom Hashoah Ve Hagevurah (Devastation and Heroism Day) and even later simplified to Yom Hashoah.
The phrase is "never forget". Today is the day when you should pause and remember those who came before and lost all. Stand tall in remembering history and refusing to bow to those who seek to revise. Never again allow such sacrifice to be brought upon your fellow man.
THOSE Darn Facts!

Facts! Getting in the way of consensus! Dog gone it! Here's the latest headline on GlowBall Warming

Researchers studying long-term changes in sea temperatures said they now expect a "lull" for up to a decade while natural variations in climate cancel out the increases caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions.

How can there be a lull? We have not even begun to fight GlowBall Warming and now there is a lull? Who knew??!

GlowBall Warming...what a pantload.
