Walter Williams

He is one of my favorite Economist'.   Use Wiki and learn that he "...is a cousin of former NBA player Julius Erving". Everyone should have a favorite economist, maybe two.  Lord knows there are enough to go around.  Hey, just ask one, they will have a statistic for you.*

But, I digress....

Mr. Williams is great when he subs for El Rushbo.  Brings out facts that simple minded liberals trip over.  So here is a chart, (some "charty goodness" as some are wont to say) that examines some statistics betwixt two cities of note. One appears to be doing something right, while the other, well, not so much.  Of course, perspective may be a key, depending on, yannow, what your goal is.

Perspective....so if you were touting Gun Control laws that have brought Chicago residents to their knees, you would ignore the data on the chart pertaining to those pesky homicides, CCW, homicides per 100K and simply point out that the population of your city, Chicago, is smaller that Houston. You WIN! Perhaps you could point out that there are more of these folks and less of them folks...You WIN! (You racist, you) Indeed, if you were Guvner of California you would grab that and the homicide rate while proclaiming "We're #1!"

Of course, if you we're against Gun Control and perhaps wanted to illustrate the absolutely, total, ineffectiveness that Gun Control has in a crime ridden melting pot of human debris like Chicago. Well, Bob's your uncle.

Or maybe cold weather causes murder.....whatever, they are just facts, right?

(*No Economist was harmed in the writing of this article.)
