McCain on Gun Control:  Their plan inspired Republican Senator John McCain to say the following: 'The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand. What are we afraid of?' "

McCain on Immigration Reform: “There’s a time for everything, you either get it done or you don’t. Now is the time to get it done as quickly as possible.” 
...the Gang of Eight “is trying to strike a deal in which all the members agree to oppose any amendments to the core provisions, even if they might agree with the amendments, people familiar with the talks said.”
This apparent effort by Gang of Eight members to force a deal through with no amendments and without a transparent process complete with public hearings examining the different facets of a forthcoming bill has worried conservatives on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Hold your horses Johnny.  What exactly is the big hurry on either of these issues?   Are we deliberating in the world greatest body or is someone trying to pull a fast one?  You track record suggests ... fast one.  

So what are you up to Maverick?  When will we get to see the bill you and your seven friends are cobbling together?  When will all this debating begin? Will we have to pass it to know what's in it?  That worked so well with Obamacare.
