"Hero"

So I got into a pissing match with some fella over on FB.  Seems he is a fan of Senator John McCain...me?, not so much.  The primary defense is that he was a "war hero" so we should respect him. My take is simply that respect is earned.  While his antics in a prison camp may have provided a degree of heroism in his past, the balance of his life has been marked by being a major screw up. (Thank you for your service, now go away) His bacon was saved on more than one occasion by his Dad....Admiral. Folks don't like to hear that.  Tough.  Suck it up Sally, the truth hurts.

I'm not going to review my past posts on Senator Screw up. They are out there.  However, this morning, I came across this article at PJ Media.  Michael Walsh delves into the shadows of the Senators past.  Guess what?  It's even worse than I have reported.

Hero?  I call shenanigans! Multiple planes crashes, power cut off to an entire village when his "daredevil clowning" cut the power lines, cheating on his wife, Brazilian wimmens, Keating Five scandal, and failed Presidential bid. (Okay, he finished second) Yet, this is the guy that wants to lecture Senator Rand Paul and Senator Ted Cruz about decorum.

Indeed, here is the pull quote from the article...."The GOP cannot hope to win another national election unless and until it retires flawed, easily caricatured men like John McCain – and never nominates them again."

Amen brother, amen.
