So president Zero, Our Hero was a stoner par excel-lance in high school. Pakalolo. The gateway drug was Barry Soetero's vice of choice.
Ima channeling my inner Cheech & Chong, Bill & Ted and their Excellant Adventure along with Harold & Kumar. Suddenly the degree of ineptitude of this administration is coming in to focus. DUDE it's not our money....
Dario Franchitti bags his third Indy 500 victory. The victory was in the wind until a last lap pass attempt by Rahal Racing's, Takuma Sato, failed. Sato attempted to dive under race-leader Franchitti
in the first turn of the last lap. (Turn 1, seriously?) Sato lost control of his car after
it made contact with Franchitti. Sato hit the wall, Franchitti headed to the finish line. Game. Set. Match.
Some gave all...... The
Bear Clan will begin the weekend by placing flags on the graves at Fort
Rosecrans. Up at dawn on Saturday with 1500 other Boy Scouts doing
this yearly task. It is inspiring to watch the waves of scouts descend
down the gently rolling hills of the cemetery in the early morning
haze. Pausing at each grave to place a flag and say out loud a long
forgotten name. Me? I look for the Michigan boys, and an olde friend.....because somebody
has to take care of em. Our last stop is Grandpa's grave, where we
place a final flag and spend some time with him.
Go out this weekend, give thanks and remember our heroes, past and present. Rumbear out...
It's Aloha Friday... ...no work till Monday!!! Doo de doo, de doo, de doo .... SNO Is home for the weekend. Placing flags at Fort Rosecrans on Saturday. Range time and the Indy 500 on Sunday and Monday hanging around the BBQ! Y'all
have a great Memorial Day weekend!
It's that time of year again....the Indianapolis 500 is 3 days, 1 Hour and 16 minutes away! I have written about the Indy several times over the life of this blog. A lot of traditions and memories come to the fore. Listening on the radio with Dad, attending 23 years ago with Gator, finding out Bar Results.....
One gem that has ripened here in the California sun is Victor Davis Hanson. VDH grew up in the Central Valley and commutes to work at the Hoover Foundation at The Farm. He writes passionately about the demise of California and occasionally opine on the national scene at NRO. His latest is a good query on .....
The power of cool is evident also in politics. State quite correctly
that you can see Russia from parts of Alaska, and you are ditzy
white-trash Sarah from Wasilla; state falsely that Franklin Roosevelt

John Kerry’s second married-into fortune probably dwarfs the one that
Mitt Romney made himself, perhaps by a factor of ten. While we heard in
2012 that Romney wanted a car elevator in one of his many houses, we
never heard much in 2004 of presidential candidate Kerry’s various
mansions, boats, or assorted playthings, or how he proved to be a keen
investor as a senator helping to set U.S. financial policy.
Kerry, you see, was cool. He windsurfed and wore spandex as he
cycled, and found his exemption by championing the poor he rarely saw.
....of course there has to be a little controversy. Chck out Jeremy Roenick and a cranky Mike Milberry discussing the hit that scrambled the Coyotes and left them braying as the Kings scored seconds later.
DUBUQUE, Iowa - A Cascade man was arrested outside of a Dubuque bar on
Sunday night with a pet zebra and a macaw parrot in the front seat of
Officers charged Jerald Reiter, 55, with OWI. Police
reports say officers stopped him in the parking lot of the Dog House
Lounge as he drove away in his truck. According to police, field
sobriety tests showed Reiter had a blood alcohol level of .14. The legal
limit in Iowa is .08.
Reiter tells KCRG.com that he and his
wife see the animals like their kids and often take them for rides. On
Sunday night, they say they took the zebra and the macaw to the bar
because it often lets people bring their animals inside.
My Detroit Red Wings are long gone from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, the Big Kahuna is an olde friend and a die hard Kings fan. It is great watching his team thrive in the playoffs against the Phoenix Coyotes. I have jumped on the Kings bandwagon. Hockey has not been this popular in Southern Cal since Gretzky was lacing them up. He was a King....and owner of the Coyotes to boot. I am surprised he has not surfaced at a game.
The profound Guvner was in good form this weekend discussing president Zero, Our Hero. CBS is reporting:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told Kentucky Republicans on Saturday
that President Barack Obama was “posing and preening” instead of working
to resolve pressing issues facing the country. “He is the most ill-prepared person to assume the presidency in my
lifetime,” Christie told some 600 Kentucky Republicans at a Lexington
hotel. “This is a guy who literally is walking around in a dark room
trying to find the light switch of leadership.”
It's Aloha Friday... ...no work till Monday!!! Doo de doo, de doo, de doo .... Crossroads of the West Gunshow. LA Kings hockey on Sunday....maybe a little range time. (shhh...don't tell anyone) Y'all
have a great weekend!
Deja Moo: The feeling that
you've heard this bull before.
His parents thought he was a budding genius, but he turned out to
be a blooming idiot.
A group of chess enthusiasts
checked into a hotel, and were
standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office, and asked them to disperse. "But why," they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said, "I can't stand chess-nuts boasting in an
A woman who had been married three times walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding. "Of course, madam," replied the sales clerk, exactly what type and color dress are you looking for?" The bride-to-be said, "A long frilly white dress with a veil." The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, "Please don't take this the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for brides who are being married the first time - for those who are a bit more innocent, if you know what I mean? Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?"
"Well," replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk's directness, "I
can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first-time bride. You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding he died as we were checking into our honey moon hotel. My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon hotel that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again."
What about your third husband?" asked the salesclerk.
"That one was a Democrat," said the woman, "and every night for four years,
he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be, but nothing ever happened."
It's Aloha Friday... ...no work till Monday!!! Doo de doo, de doo, de doo .... PLHS Lacrosse season is over. A little CR 914 racing up at Corte Madera Lake in the mountains east of Sandy Eggo. Mothers Day on Sunday. Y'all
have a great weekend!
Perusing the Intrawebs today and found a link over at Rogers place. Followed it to an article in the WSJ on how the Obama campaign is potentially guiding opposition research and harassing donors to Romney's campaign.
Frank VanderSloot is the CEO of Melaleuca Inc. The 63-year-old has
run that wellness-products company for 26 years out of tiny Idaho Falls,
Idaho. Last August, Mr. VanderSloot gave $1 million to Restore Our
Future, the Super PAC that supports Mitt Romney.
Three weeks ago, an Obama campaign
website, "Keeping GOP Honest," took the extraordinary step of publicly
naming and assailing eight private citizens backing Mr. Romney. Titled
"Behind the curtain: a brief history of Romney's donors," the post
accused the eight of being "wealthy individuals with less-than-reputable
records." Mr. VanderSloot was one of the eight, smeared particularly as
being "litigious, combative and a bitter foe of the gay rights
That's right kids, Mr. Hope & Change is targeting individual citizens for their contributions to political causes. It's a thug life. It is gonna get nastier as the long hot summer rolls on....
