Lipstick on a Pig

Well several of you have axed the olde Rumbear "What's up with the Lipstick on a pig comment?" Seems kinda silly. Yes it is. Yet remember George Allen and "macaca". Ran him out of the race for that one. Trent Lott at Strom Thurmond's birthday a few years back....lost the Senate Majority post. Clearly they were all insentive bastards that needed to be drummed outta town according to the press....R I G H T??? So what's good for the goose is good for the gander??? Yet McPalin doesn't seem to be pushing the point. (Okay, one commercial) That is probably a wise tactic. If the Republicans push the issue the press and O'Biden can scream politics of destruction and brand them racists. But they do not take the bait.

So old ObamalamDingDong decries enuff already! Then he goes on Late Nite with Davey Letterman and.......doesn't let it go. Pathologically speaking, there is something afoot. If it was an innocent gaffe, then indeed, let it go. If it wasn't, now here's the rub, maybe some guilt comes in and there is a NEED to explain how it was all innocent and that HAS to be heard.

Denny over at Grouchy Old Cripple has a similar take:

That's what we have with ol' Jug Hussein Ears. He just keeps digging himself into a deeper hole trying to justify his "Lipstick on a pig" remark. What's really funny, is that he wasn't even referring to Palin. I guess he must feel like a white person who says to no one in particular when commenting on the weather, "Boy it sure is hot out today." And then some black male, whom he wasn't even talking to, says, "Don't call me boy!"

VDH discusses the gaffe here saying

Yesterday he did it again, and paid big-time with his silly “lipstick” quote about Palin. A small matter, but of enormous symbolic importance: it shows that he can’t leave well enough alone, as if he were driven on by forces beyond him.

So, here's my take.....he did it on purpose to bait the McPalin team. There's no guilt here. Just a smug preppy boy trying to make sure that his point gets some play. The problem is.......McPalin is not biting and that, well, that, really pisses off ole Obamarama. So, he still talks about it....to, you know, make it go away.

Convoluted? You bet. But they are Demecrats and they are losing.
