Abby Sunderland is okay....for now.  The 16 year olde spoke with a circling aircraft this morning from her disabled yacht in the Indian ocean. 


Australian authorities on Friday made contact with a 16-year-old American girl who triggered a distress signal while attempting to sail solo around the world.
But it could be a day before a French fishing vessel pulls Abby Sunderland and her boat, Wild Eyes, to shore, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said.
"She's in the boat. The boat's seaworthy. It's not taking on water, and she's equipped for the conditions down there, we believe," said Mick Kinley of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

Hang on kiddo...helps a coming. Oh and to all you natering naybobs of negativity, nanny state loving, naysayers "tut tutting" about a 16 year old at sea alone....bite me. Yeah, I'm talking to you Bill Carroll.

Uncle Rush, (U Dawg U!) is getting married this weekend at his 24,000 sq foot beach bungalow down Palm Beach way.  4th time is a charm for the conservative icon.  33 year old Kathryn Rogers is the lucky woman.


I can't make it to the wedding but I am sending a gift....prolly towels.

To be clear, the story of the Mavi Marmara is not the story of the entire flotilla. From international reports, one would think the flotilla was comprised of that single ship. But there were six.
The five other ships in the “Freedom Flotilla” were boarded and escorted to Ashdod, the passengers were disembarked, and the humanitarian aid was transferred over the border into Gaza. This was apparently not newsworthy.

As we know, the Mavi Marmara was another story altogether. Revealed in cabinet briefings and reported in Israel Today on Wednesday: the large boat contained between 50-100 passengers who had apparently been recruited and put on the boat by the IHH organization — which financed and organized the flotilla — with orders to violently attack the IDF soldiers expected to board.

“They came ready for battle. They came to kill and planned violence against the soldiers ahead of time” a military official told the cabinet.

These men were organized and well-trained, with a clear chain of command — there were leaders, deputies, and footsoldiers, divided up into specific groups, located in pre-designated locations on the top deck of the boat waiting for the soldiers to board.

They were fully equipped for battle. A search of the ship found weaponry — knives, axes, metal poles — as well as protective gear, bulletproof vests, masks, and night vision goggles. When they were apprehended, none of them carried any form of identification, and most of them had thousands of dollars in their pockets.

The Bear Clan began the weekend by placing flags on the graves at Fort Rosecrans.  Up at dawn on Saturday with 1500 other Boy Scouts doing this yearly task.  It is inspiring to watch the waves of scouts descend down the gently rolling hills of the cemetery in the early morning haze.  Pausing at each grave to place a flag and say a long forgotten name.  Me?  I look for the Michigan boys, because somebodies gotta take care of em. Our last stop is Grandpa's grave, where we place a final flag and spend some time with him.

 

Go out today, give thanks and remember our heroes, past and present, this weekend.  Carry on.

It's "misguided," the basis for "real concerns" that make it "fundamental" to a human-rights discussion with the Chinese. I'm pretty sure it's unconstitutional and certainly "unfortunate," and should be challenged with a lawsuit as soon as possible. 
Protesters should probably get out there and decry the "police state," "fascist," "Nazi" proclivities of the Obama administration, and add some vandalism for good measure (all in the name of civil debate, of course).
Sure, I haven't really done any research into the call for National Guard troops, the dangers that necessitated the call, or what their function and limitations will be in enforcing the border.

THE captain has left the team.  It will be announced today that Steve Yzermen will be named General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightening.  The Hall of Fame player and longtime Detroit captain, is leaving his job in the Red Wings front office for the Lightning.

Jessica Watson sailed her mighty pink boat around the world.  She arrived home yesterday, docking at the Sidney Opera house.  A 16-year-old Australian who spent seven months at sea sailed across the finish line of her round-the-world journey Saturday, becoming the youngest sailor to circle the globe solo, nonstop and unassisted.
Read that again...circle the globe, solo, nonstop and unassisted....  Holy Jumpin!  What has your 16 year old done of late?  Yeah, mine either.

What a great accomplishment.  Welcome home!

Senatorial candidate John "I'm Not A Maverick" McCain, is in a tough race with my olde pal JD Hayworth.  JD has written books and speak frequently about sealing the border.  So, the Maverick McCain releases an ad stating he has been tough on immigration.  Really?  Jaw droppingly wrong, patent pandering.  

Recall, McCain is the guy that sponsored the last immigration/amnesty bill with his protege Sen. Lindsey Gramnesty.   This is not a flip flop....its a flop.  So here they are discussing it on the Morning Joe.  Even Arizona congressman John Shaddeg is laughing at McCain.

That means people who were driving a vehicle, failed to yield, took off like a bat out of hell, running red lights, creating traffic wrecks, numerous people were killed in these wrecks over the last several months, and who are these people? And the American public is against it? Weird…
