Put together from a kit. Black Powder pistol in 45 caliber.
Hand polished brass fittings on a hand carved stock, finished with 10 coats of marine grade varnish, steel barrel. Cap & ball fun to be had!

UPDATE:  Several of you have written to query....where did you find this Rumbear?  A number of places have kits.  Try here, here, here, or here.  Get some black powder training BEFORE you pull the trigger.  Be safe out there.

It's Called Murder.

So the abortion has been botched and the wee tyke is there for all to see.  What do we do now?  That questions was asked in hearings held by the Florida Legislature recently.

Representative Jim Boyd queried....."If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

The answer from Planned Parenthood's representative was....

"We believe that any decision that's made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician," said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Alisa LaPolt Snow.

There it is. Kill the baby. From the same bunch that not three days ago was marching on the Supreme Court demanding Equal Rights for all.

Kill the baby.

In my world it is called murder. First degree murder....by hypocrites.

More signs.....I just wanna be one of the cool kids!!

John McCain....

How long must we suffer under the inept leadership of our overlords?  When, as Clint Eastwood said, "Sometimes ya just gotta let them go..."

John McCain is waaay past that point.  He is clearly too senile to realize that on his own. It's like taking the car keys from Grandpa, tough, but it has to be done.  Arizona....man up.

John McCain, on a visit to the border town of Nogales, Ariz. with colleagues Chuck Schumer, Michael Bennet and Jeff Flake, bore witness, firsthand, to one of the challenges Congress will face as it attempts to craft immigration legislation: securing the border.

Standing at the country’s Southern border, McCain tweeted: Just witnessed a woman successfully climb an 18-ft bollard fence a few yards from us in

Shortly thereafter, he posted an update: Border Patrol successfully apprehended her, but incident is another reminder that threats to our border security are real

Ed Note: The second "tweet" occurred AFTER and aide said..."Holy crap! he said what!"

The four senators are part of the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” leading the legislative effort on immigration reform.

Lemme get this straight....while a US Senator and his enablers were conducting a staged photo op in a town that has been designated "dangerous" to US citizens, (i.e. Nogales), an illegal immigrant, apparently too stupid to know better, climbed a fence, in broad daylight, right in front of them, and entered our country......ILLEGALLY!  Then the numb nut, aforementioned Senator(s) paused, and "tweeted" about it.

Here's a thought...how about you trot your sorry Senator butt over and apprehended that alien and throw them in jail?!

I know, I know, my Navy buds are shaking their collective noggins saying ...but Rumbear he is a war hero, Viet Nam, prisoner...blah, blah, blah.  John, thank you for your service. Now go home.

A wise General once said "Old soldiers don't die, they just fade away"....

Hey Johnny, exit, stage right....

Okay.....

"Equality for all!" scream our Gay Proud friends. Plastering Facebook with their equal sign tokenism.

Okay, fine. While we are on the subject how about....

Seems Aboot Right.....

Starboard!

Can You See Me Now?

Mt Whitney. 14,505 feet

Cool photos. Tallest peak in the Lower 48.

Shown here are the routes to the top from Whitney Portal outside of Lone Pine, California. I have been on top twice.

Launch out of Whitney Portal and start going up. Generally, your goal is Trail Camp at the foot of the 100 switchback portion.  Get up to Trail Crest and the view takes in the front and backside of the Sierras.  From Trail Crest the summit is a long slog.  You are at 13000 feet going higher.  The last 1/2 mile to the summit is grueling.  The view from the top is spectacular on a clear day.

Been up to Trail Camp 4-5 times.  Always enjoyed staying a week or two at 12,000 feet.  Hike around up there and it will sort out what ails you.....or kill ya.

Monday's Pun(s) !!!

The comedian stopped at the fabric store on his way to a comedy gig. He was looking for new material.

I hate cliff-hangers! Do you know what I am going to do about it?

The Future...

Exurban Kevin...dude is like a palm reader or something.  Maybe he is a "retired" Canadian doctor.....those dudes are rare...rumor has it...they make less than palm readers.

An ELEVEN YEAR wait for bunion surgery. Canada has a single-payer health care system: The government decides how much health care should cost, and pays doctors accordingly. If you don’t want work for what the government says you’re worth, you don’t become a doctor, you do something else.
This is the future of America. Fortunately, there’s still time to change the future.

Obamas America.....have YOU had a vacation lately?

Perhaps one is a photoshop.

Buck Owens....

Sticking in my head from Thursday nite...

Wings WIN!!

Gathered up the Rumbear Youth and travelled up Highway 5 to the Honda Ponda for the Ducks/Red Wings tilt. The announcermanperson folks let it be known that the Ducks are the hottest team in the league going 12-2 over the past few games.  They are also 13-0 at home holding the longest win streak in the NHL. Wow....and the Wings....they are in 7th place.

Then they played the game. So I had to edit....

The announcermanperson folks let it be known that the Ducks are [were] the hottest team in the league, going 12-3 over the past few games.  They are also 13-0 at home, holding [clinging to] the longest win streak [at home] in the NHL. Wow....and the Wings....they are in 7th [5th] place.

5-1final, the Wings looked AWESOME. The seats were fabulous!  Abdelkader had a Hat Trick, three fights, lot's of scoring chances....just an all around great game. We came, we saw, we kicked a little a**. The end.

That's why we play the game.....

UPDATE:  Game 2 of the series was on Sunday.  Wings whupped em again.  Huge victories.  Now on to Arizona!

Say No More...

The owner said "I Wish My Boat Was in San Francisco..."  Negotiations ensued, provisions were stored.....apparently it was cold. I learned, a lot.

Off Pt Conception, northbound.

True Dat.....

Then again, maybe it is the Ford sticker. Hmmm...

Keep Your Head Down...

...and clear the windsurfer lashed to the starboard rail. (Gator!)  Bet Tigers' old man never taught him that.

So...

.. I work offa three different kompooters.  Stuff on one may not be on the other.  Some nights, or days, it is fun to stroll through the archives and see what resides therein.

This one is from Ice Diving on Orchard Lake in Michigan circa 1976. Yeah, I used to teach that class.  Obviously, I thought the guy with the camera was #1.

Why dive in the Winter?  During the summer the visibility is less than five feet and some ski boat jockey will likely steel your dive flag.  In the winter, the horses behinds are safely tucked away wherever such may go.  Oh and the visibility....it was around 125 feet.

Indeed.

Sometimes.......

...ya just gotta dance.

Enjoy the Decline....

The book "Enjoy The Decline", by fellow blogger, Captain Capitalism is getting some good reviews.  Kathy Shaidle has one here.

Is America in decline?

Some books propose possible ways to avert this catastrophe.
Aaron Clarey’s Enjoy the Decline isn’t one of them.
As his subtitle suggests, this book is about “accepting and living with the death of the United States.”
It’s full of counterintuitive, amusing, and sometimes infuriating advice:
What country should I move to?
What should I pack in a bug-out bag?
Why don’t black people go to national parks?
This book features something to offend everyone.

Check it out!

Overheard....

Obama says he has "no regrets" about not being considered for Pope.
