Bailout!

Fails to garner approval in the House. What's up with that? Nancy Peelosi dominates the House. She has a majority of votes amongst Democrats to pass it. She even has the Obama Messiah on her side.....HOW did it fail? How did the Community Organizer fail?

Stay tuned kiddies. Political spin is gonna come at you hard the next few days

It's That Time.....

The olde Rumbear was working at the airport back in the late 70's. The watering hole was located in the building that housed the control tower. The tower closed at 11:00pm each nite. At 11:15 pm, while sitting at the bar, you could hear the pounding of footsteps from above as the two controllers raced each other down the metal staircase. The door would fly open and two guys would jostle each other as they headed for their seats. Awaiting them were two chilled martini's......because the bartender knew.....

.....it's that time.

and it is...I'm outta here!
Ummmmmm...

I Got A Question.

Senator McCain suspends his campaign and goes to Washington to deal with the "Economic Crisis". Senator ObamalamaDingDong, aka "Mr. 143 Days in The Senate", gets an invite from Bush II to come on down for some jawboning. Nothing extraordinary here, after all it is their JOB as members of the Senate, right?

So here's my question....

Where the hell is Senator Joe Biden?

I'm just asking......
AWESOME!
Go Here and LEARN!

Ann Gets It.....

How this mess came about.....Democrats! Big surprise eh?

In Bush's first year in office, the White House chief economist, N. Gregory Mankiw, warned that the government's "implicit subsidy" of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, combined with loans to unqualified borrowers, was creating a huge risk for the entire financial system.

Rep. Barney Frank denounced Mankiw, saying he had no "concern about housing." How dare you oppose suicidal loans to people who can't repay them! The New York Times reported that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were "under heavy assault by the Republicans," but these entities still had "important political allies" in the Democrats.

Now, at a cost of hundreds of billions of dollars, middle-class taxpayers are going to be forced to bail out the Democrats' two most important constituent groups: rich Wall Street bankers and welfare recipients.

Yup. That same Barney Frank that is out there now blaming Republicans for, well everything.

Twice!

He said it twice so the MSM's would understand it.

"We know he didn't do it because he's afraid because Sen. McCain wanted more debates," Clinton said, adding that he was "encouraged" by the joint statement from McCain and Sen. Barack Obama.

"You can put it off a few days the problem is it's hard to reschedule those things," Clinton said, "I presume he did that in good faith since I know he wanted -- I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country and so I don't think we ought to overly parse that."

Who?

You know, Bill Clinton, long time John, uh, hey, wait a minute....Who?*
(*Do not for one second think that the Clinton's don't have a dog in this hunt.*

OODA Loop?

John McCain continues to apply tactics learned as a fighter pilot and utilize them with a timing honed from years in Washington. Frankly, I am impressed and as longtime readers know the olde Rumbear being impressed by McCain is ..... rare.

So what's this OODA, you ask?

It has become an important concept in both business and military strategy. According to Boyd, decision-making occurs in a recurring cycle of observe-orient-decide-act. An entity (either an individual or an organization) that can process this cycle quickly, observing and reacting to unfolding events more rapidly than an opponent, can thereby "get inside" the opponent's decision cycle and gain a military or business advantage.

Quite simple in theory, difficult in application. Fighter pilots that master the skill, live to fight another day. Those that don't, well, if they are lucky, life goes on.

Today John McCain used his skills and elected to suspend his campaign, cancel the debate, return to Washington and dive in to the financial crisis. Taking the fight to the opponent, turn inside and go for the advantage.

ObamalamaDingDong has been caught flat footed, again. (The last time was when McCain named Fair Sarah as his running mate.)

Some will call fowl, say it is a stunt. Yet, it is a bold move that may pay big dividends. Risk vs reward........No doubt this move will dominate the news cycle.

Barry say the debates are still on. Uh, good luck with that.

OODA!

UPDATE: 09/25/08 08:39 PST ----Turning hard. Pullings G's. Target acquired.

Obama himself declared that the country may be on the verge of the greatest economic calamity since the Great Depression.Yet instead of taking just 24-48 hours to tend to his day job and deal with the largest piece of legislation in U.S. history he insists on having a debate on a wholly unrelated topic, on a Friday night no less. This from a candidate who couldn't be bothered to debate in July and August, when nothing of great urgency was going on in the senate.

The debate will still take place — either Friday or a few days later. Nothing will be lost if there's a slight delay after two insufferable years of campaigning. But time is of the essence as concerns the bailout. And while the presence of one or two senators may not have a great impact on, say, senate legislation designating Oct. 16 National Bosses' Day, the absence of two senators on a bill of this magnitude is gross dereliction of duty — especially when one of the two will be charged with executing it.

Yeessssssssss!

GO Yions!!! (yes, yions!)
The Bailout....

I'm wrestling with it, but I'm thinking, no.

Why? Chris Dodd is the Chairman working out this deal...he took $200K from MBNA? Barney Frank? Pullease. I need more details...until then.
Not gonna support it.

Go here, here, and here.
How Long?

I am troubled of late by the stumbles of Joe Biden. He has been a gift that has given beyond our dreams, yet, somethings not right. Even for Joe Biden the walking gaffe-o-matic the slip ups of the past week are of note. The Dem's are in trouble and Biden is not helping the ticket. Indeed, I question how the heck he was picked in the first place...but, I digress. Recall, The Annointed One travelled to Harlem and met with Bill Clinton...WHY?

It's bugging me.

Instinct? Upset stomach? Who knows, but I sense mischief afoot. Biden's gonna get cut from the ticket. Enter HRH Hillary. There, I said it.

Illness, family concerns or simply ObamablamaDingDong doing a patented flip flop on his choice....something like "Hey, I have studied the VP position and America needs the Democrats. Joe Biden's a great guy, but these are trying times." Gone.

Impact?
She counters Palin.
HRH Hillary gets her campaign debt retired.
Biden? He gets to be an Ambassador in the new regime.

Politics ain't beanball as olde Sheldon Appleton used to say.

Very Interesting

So who is Barry Obama? What do we know? Well not much it turns out.
However, (you knew that was coming) here is a long article that provides some insight. Read a little ...you might get hooked like I did.

It's Baaaaaaacckkkk!

HOCKEYBALL!

Wings open the preseason on Wednesday night when the play host to Les Habitants at the Joe.

Predictions??....Here's' what one wag says:

The Red Wings have no discernible weaknesses in their lineup and are a bona fide favorite to win their second straight Stanley Cup crown. The transition from the Yzerman era to the reign of Lidstrom, Zetterberg and Datsyuk was completed last season and those players can add to their legacy with another title this year. Plain and simple, anything less than another Cup would be a disappointment for the most-talented team in the world.

GO WINGS!!!
Cool Stuff.

Down FLA way....

Two space shuttles are on adjacent launch pads at the same time at the Kennedy Space Center.

The last time that happened was in 2001. (Actually, it was 2005)

The shuttle Endeavor rolled out to the launch pad on Saturday. Atlantis had been out for several days.
FINALLY .... this issue gets some press.

Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama's first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers's home.

The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood," and "not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis." Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC.

Read the WHOLE thing. Enlighten thyself.
Don't miss this....

In works like “City Kids, City Teachers” and “Teaching the Personal and the Political,” Mr. Ayers wrote that teachers should be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression. His preferred alternative? “I’m a radical, Leftist, small ‘c’ communist,” Mr. Ayers said in an interview in Ron Chepesiuk’s, “Sixties Radicals,” at about the same time Mr. Ayers was forming CAC.

CAC translated Mr. Ayers’s radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with “external partners,” which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn).

Now do you get some understanding as to why the MSM (main stream media) is staying away from this portion of the candidates life?

Joe Biden

The gift that keeps on giving. Michele Malkin notes...

Looks like Joe Biden, in his interview with Katie Couric, was copying off the wrong classmate’s exam again. He said (video here):

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed. He said, ‘look, here’s what happened.’”
My recollection is that the stock market crash was in 1929. Two problems here: Television did not even exist in 1929, and FDR was elected in 1932, so he wasn’t even the leader at the time of the crash. When Joe was in history class, was he cheating by looking over the class dunce’s shoulder, or does he just make this stuff up? Of course, TV celebrity Katie Couric also didn’t note that Biden’s statement was doubly incorrect. Her goal was a softball puff piece.”

Then there is his trashing of his running mates ad mocking John McCain's inability to use a keyboard. Not to be outdone, ObamalamaDingDong chastises Biden on his position on AIG and the use of coal.

Sheesh, do these clowns realize they are on the same team?

After the transvestite escaped from prison the only thing the police could tell the press was that she was still a broad.

The magician got so mad he pulled his hare out.

Here's the headline.....

Post-convention swing state polls are tipping toward Sen. John McCain, the TV pundits are waxing about "The Palin Factor," and Sen. Barack Obama's California supporters are freaking out about a race Democrats were uncommonly confident about only a month ago.

Conversely, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's addition to the GOP ticket jolted Northern California Republicans out of what one described as their "Underground Railroad" existence in one of the nation's most liberal regions.

Got em on the run and they do not know what to do. Karma feeding on hubris.

Libertarian Republican has the facts.

My name is David KernellI am 15 a white caucasian male i live in memphis, TN.

This bio was posted in 2003 so now he would be about 20. There is a democrat representative from TN named Mike Kernell. Coincidence?Other blogs have posited that David Kernell is indeed the son of Democrat Rep. Mike Kernell. Images of State Rep.

Mike Kernell on Google Search, which were available late last night, have been taken down. Additionally, the link to his official website is now "Site Not Found."

Though, LR Blog has managed to obtain a photo of the State Representative. If it turns out that Mike Kernell is indeed the Father of the Hacker Rubico, his direct connections to Tennessee Democrats for Obama will no doubt be of great interest to top news sources in the coming hours.

"great interest" .... or not. After all they are Democrats. They can do no wrong.
Human Debris

That's what ObamalamaDingDong thinks of an aborted living fetus. Leave it to die. Throw it away.

Barack Obama is a charming and intelligent man. But there is no other way to interpret his position on BAIPA than this: A woman who chooses an abortion is entitled to a dead child no matter what. That is an abortion extremist.

ZERO's the Hero!

Senator Obama, pressed to take a position on the proposed AIG bailout by the federal government he hopes to lead, answered that he couldn't.

Well, Duh.

Stands to reason, actually. He certainly doesn't know and has no guiding principles that fit. The advisers that he would rely on for guidance, Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson, caused the debacle at Freddie and Fannie that is reverberating through the economy.

I can hardly wait to see Raines, Johnson and their good friend, Jamie ( I Made $26M Off of Freddie Mac!) Gorelick back at the levers of power in D.C.

Good Time For This...

video
Now They Tell Us....

The Democratic-controlled Congress, acknowledging that it isn't equipped to lead the way to a solution for the financial crisis and can't agree on a path to follow, is likely to just get out of the way.

Lawmakers say they are unlikely to take action before, or to delay, their planned adjournments -- Sept. 26 for the House of Representatives, a week later for the Senate.

Who has oversight of Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae?
Congress.
Who failed to apply existing regualtions to the situation got us here?
Congress.
Who is leaving town and doing nothing?
Congress.

So what's next?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said yesterday, is that ``no one knows what to do'' at the moment.

Thanks for nothing, Dumbass.

Liberals....

I can't say it better so I'll just quote Jay Nordlinger....

I am no violet, and I know that politics is an ugly business. But I must say: The attempted destruction of Gov. Sarah Palin — by some of the worst forces in this country — is making me sick. You? For most of our lives, we have heard squawks from the left about civil liberties. Also about the “politics of personal destruction.” I know they hate her, politically and personally. But won’t some of them stand up against what is happening now? Just for the sake of a semblance of integrity?

Not one of em will stand up. That's why Joe Lieberman left the party. Thieves, whores and reprobates masquerading as "politicians".

Need more?

I, Doug Stanhope, am offering you, Bristol Palin, the sum of 25,000 dollars so that you can abort your child and move out of that draconian home. I have also set up a PayPal link so that others around the world can help increase this amount to ease the burden of starting out on your own at such an early age.

Gather Round Kids!

From the wise men at NRO.

The Middle-Class Wallet
By the Editors

By historical standards, tax rates are low, Fed policy is loose, and trade is free. Growth has been picking up. Resurgent inflation threatens the economy more than recession does. Most people have no reason for fear about their jobs. But a lot of people are getting squeezed by higher prices. A conservative economic agenda can address the public’s concerns better than a liberal one can — and John McCain has an opportunity to present one.

Here is our eight-point plan to protect the middle class.

Read the rest here.
Why Men Don't Write Advice Columns

Dear Walter:
I hope you can help me here. The other day, I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbor lady. I am 32, my husband is 34, and we have been married for twelve years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that they had been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. He won't go to counseling and I'm afraid I can't get through to him anymore. Can you please help?

Sincerely, Sheila

Dear Sheila:
A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to thecarburetor float chamber.

I hope this helps.-Walter
Welcome!

A Dad and his Daughter

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and Let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying. Her father listened and then asked, 'How is your friend Audrey doing?'

She replied, 'Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over.'Her wise father asked his daughter, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's Office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.'

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, 'That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!'

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, 'Welcome to the Republican party.'

Spin.....

Gather round kids, here's how it's done.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows. On the back of the picture is this inscription:’Remus Obama; horse thief, sent to Oklahoma Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Oklahoma Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.’

Arlo in our Opposition Research Department e-mailed the campaign for comments. The Annointed One's staff sent back the following biographical sketch:

Remus Obama was a famous cowboy in the Oklahoma Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Oklahoma railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to service at a government facility, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.

Lesson's over for the day....
So, This Guy Takes a.....

You can't make this stuff up folks.
Team ObamalamaDingDong is frustrated by their candidates inability to parse syllables. So they come up with a solution ..... traveling teleprompters. Yesterday, in a rodeo ring the Anointed One gave a speech and there it was...a frickin teleprompter.

Ooooooow Tough Guys!

The Obiden campaign was true to their words and is getting tough. Today they came out with an ad that mocks John McCain for not using a computer. Being illiterate....

John McCain is mocked as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate in a television commercial out Friday from Barack Obama as the Democrat begins his sharpest barrage yet on McCain's long Washington career.

The new fighting spirit comes as McCain has been gaining in the polls and some Democrats have been expressing concern the Obama campaign has not been aggressive enough. Obama's campaign says the escalation will involve advertising and pushes made by the candidate, running mate Joe Biden and other surrogates across the country.

"Today is the first day of the rest of the campaign," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe says in a campaign strategy memo. "We will respond with speed and ferocity to John McCain's attacks and we will take the fight to him, but we will do it on the big issues that matter to the American people."

"Our economy wouldn't survive without the Internet, and cyber-security continues to represent one our most serious national security threats," Pfeiffer said. "It's extraordinary that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief doesn't know how to send an e-mail."

McCain has said he relies on his wife and staff to work the computer for him and that he doesn't use e-mail.

Doesn't know how tosend an e-mail? Let's check that out. Hmmmm, Boston Globe March 4, 2000

McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He's an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can't raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.

is all over this.

Imagine that. Democrats mocking a cripple! A cripple from war injuries. Yeah, that outta get you some votes.
